Reston, retired CBS President Frank Stanton and OSU President Harold L. Knarson Saturday dedicated the Ohio State School of Journalism's Milton Caniff Research Room. Caniff, an OSU alumnus, is best known for his comic strips "Terry and the Pirates" and "Steve Canyon." Reston and Caniff went to high school together in Dayton. William Neill, chief therapist of Kernan Hospital here, says Carter suffered a mild to moderate strain to a groin muscle while running on a Georgia beach last month. Dr. William M. Lukash, the White House physician, confirmed Carter's injury and the therapy.

He said that Carter is not in pain except when he tries to run and that the president has cut down on his running to two miles a day and has slowed his speed. Neill said, "The president takes good care of himself. He's an ardent jogger and he doesn't want anything to interfere with that."
