Aw -Cik-ito-w- Jf 5 Safe Deposit Box Possible Clue in Slaying NEW ORLEANS, May 18 (JP Sheriff Percy Hebert of St. John the Baptist Parish said today a safe deposit box in a Baton Rouge bank is the last unchecked possible clue in last November's killing of New Orleans engineer Thomas Hotard and the disappearance of Mrs. Audrey Moate. The safe deposit box belonged to Mrs. Moate, the attractive Baton Rouge divorcee believed to have been with Hotard.

"As things stand now," Hebert said, "Audrey Moate's safe deposit box cannot be opened until seven years has passed and she is declared legally dead. He said one attempt to get a court order to enter the vault had failed. He said the safe deposit box may contain something that could provide a clue. Hotard, married safety engineer, was found dead of a shotgun blast, sprawled in his car in a desolate section of the Pontchartrain lake-front near LaPlace Nov. 25.

Mrs. Moate, seen to accompany him there, had vanished. Some clothing believed to have been hers was found in the area. MIKE WILKINSON, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Lake Charles Hospital Site To Be Bouglit BATON ROUGE, May 18 W) State Treasurer A. P. Tugwell said today he has decided to purchase a 10-acre site near McNeese State College for the new Lake Charles charity hospital. He has just returned from a two-day trip in the Lake Charles area, looking over four locations proposed for the 200-bed, two-million-dollar hospital. Tugwell, who also serves as the state building authority, said he will buy the land for $45,000 from Charles W.

Jeffries, Lake Charles retired assistant postmaster. The 15-member hospital advisory committee, appointed by Gov. Earl Long, has endorsed Tugwell's choice, the treasurer said. Hospital architects report they will be ready in four months for advertisement of bids, Tugwell added. The 1956 Legislature authorized the hospital and appropriated the money.

The chosen location is on Louisiana Ave. within Lake Charles city limits, about three blocks east of the college. Tugwell said he selected the property because it is near sewerage and utilities while the other location would require considerable expenditures for the facilities.
