of the Second Congregational church, will deliver two memorial addresses on Decoration day. In the morning he will talk at Round Point church to the veterans residing in that vicinity and in the afternoon he will address the members of the G. A. H. and the Woman's Relief Corps at Agency.

Rev. Davies is a forcible speaker and his addresses eulogistic to the memory of the departed heroes will doubtless be heard with great interest by the sur viving veterans of the Civil war. Rev. Davies has also been honored by being invited to deliver the graduating address at the commencement exercises Marietta college, at Marietta, Ohio. He is an alumnus of that institution, having graduated in 1884.

Grand Lodge Benevolent anq rolet -cm-i i i The jjlans and specifications for the new First Baptist church, to be erected on the corner of Court and Fifth streets, have been completed and Saturday the advertisements for bids will be issued. The structure will be finished on November j.5, unless the plans go astray and" then the members of the church will worship in building that will not be surpassed in conveniences by any church in the city.

Rev. F. G. Davies, the pastor of the church, has announced that the plans will be on exhibition Friday afternoon of this week from a to 4 o'clock at the office of the architect. Geo.

M. Kerns, in the Electric building, East Second street, and any member of the church who desires to view them may do so. The present Baptist church will be turned over to the Y. W. C.

A. June 15, and from that time until the new building is completed all the church services will be held in the Y. M. C. A.

auditorium. Will Be Modern Structure. The new Baptist structure will be one of the most modern churches in the state, although it will not have such a large seating capacity as many others. There will be a large balcony constructed, and a folding screen will divide the main auditorium and the Sunday school room, which may be thrown into one large room. The church will be built -in an ornamental and 'useful manner, both inside and out and will add greatly to the appearance of the neighborhood in which it will be built.

The officers and directors of the Young WjOmen's Christian association have made extensive plaa.s for remod eling the present church structure to suit the needs of the association. An additional floor will be constructed and the building when the repairs are completed will make one oi the finest Y. W. C. A.

homes in the state. The First.Floor. In the front part of the building on the first floor will be located tho offices and secretary's room Immediately back of this will be built five small class rooms for use by the various classes of the association. These rooms will be separated by movable partitions and so arrange that they can be thrown into one large assembly hall for the accommodation of large gatherings. To the rear of this room will be the dining room, kitchen and pantry apartments.

This part of the building will be fitted with everything that would be found in the modernly equipped cooking department of any home and will be utilized by the cooking classes. This department the girls of the association will be at liberty to use at any time. The Second Floor. On the second floor will be found the gymnasium and bath rooms. The gymnasium will be 45x45 and will be large enough for the indoor games' and basketball The gymnasium will be fitted with all apparatus necessary for carrying on the work of the classes.

A farewell party was given last evening at the home ot Miss Nellie McCoy who resides on South Moore street in honor of Miss Myrtle Luke, who soon leaves for her home in Cleveland. The evening was very pleasantly spent in games and other amusements, and a very delightful time was the result. Wm. Harris favored the company with several selections on the graphaphone. Refreshments were served.
