Wednesday. Charles A. Hartel, 83 OWOSSO Charles A. 83, formerly of Cass City, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 1990.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Little's Funeral Home, Cass City. William Hurt, 42 Military officer BOULDER, Colo. William Hurt, 42, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 1990.

He is survived by his parents, Paul T. Jr. and Mary Hurt. Hurt was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Air Corps.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Paul's Episcopal Church in St. Clair. Arrangements were by the Howe Boulder.

Arthur J. Miner, 85 Barber NEW BALTIMORE Arthur J. Miner, 85, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 1990. He is survived by a grand-: son, David.

Rexton S. Rainey, 84, died Sunday, July 29, 1990. He is survived by two daughters, Karyn Rainey-Rohrer and Blythe Rainey-Cuyler and a son, Derek. He was a chief engi- neer for the National Motor Bear-! ing Co. and Yale Rubber Man- ufacturing.

Interment services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, 1990, in Lakeside Cemetery Chapel. Arrangements are by the and 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Donald E. Ennest APPLEGATE Donald E. Ennest, 78, of 4606 Main, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 1990, in Port Huron Hospital after a short illness.

He was born Sept. 2, 1911, in Applegate. He married Nina Walker in 1940 in Detroit. She died April 3, 1977. Mr.

Ennest was the Sanilac County treasurer from January 1963 to December 1976. He was a prominent Applegate businessman and former Applegate village president. He was a member of the Applegate Fire Department and was the Washington Township supervisor. He was a member of Applegate Methodist Church and board member of the Methodist Children's Home Society. He was also a member of Croswell Lodge 469 F.

A.M. He is survived by a brother, Max of Royal Oak; a close friend, Naomi Booth and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Applegate United Methodist Church. The Rev.

Gordon Schleicher will officiate. Burial will be in Washington Cemetery. Visiting is 2 to 9 p.m. today in the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Croswell. He will lie in state at the church from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the church, the Methodist Children's Home Society or the charity of the donor's choice. Glenn French CROSWELL Glenn French died Monday, Aug. 6, 1990, in Port Huron Hospital. He was born May 20, 1901, in Buel Township.

He married Mary Nina Harneck July 3, 1943, in Applegate. She died July 31, 1983. Mr. French was a retired farmer and a member of the Croswell I.O.O.F. Lodge 286.

He is survived by two brothers, Clifford and Emery, both of Florida; a sister, Leora Jones of Florida, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Lexington. The Rev. William Norris of Melvin Baptist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Washington Cemetery. Visiting is 2 to 9 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Frank Morelli LEXINGTON Frank Morelli, 96, died Monday, Aug. 6, 1990, in Evangelical Home in Port Huron. He was born Jan. 4, 1894, in Casalvieri, Italy. He married Florence Gabriel Feb.

7, 1920, in Detroit. She died June 12, 1984. Mr. Morelli was a retired fruit grower. He owned and operated Morelli Orchards in Lexington.

He was a member of St. Denis Church. He is survived by a daughter, Violet Carlisimo of Lexington; a daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and William Walding of Lexington; six grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren. Arrangements by the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Lexington are incomplete. Burial will be in St.

Denis Cemetery. Visiting is 6 to 9 p.m. today and 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. More obituaries, SA Lapeer; a granddaughter, Jennifer Clark and a grandson, Joshua Clark, both of Port Huron.

He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Larry Clark in 1950, and a daughter, Donna Clark in 1949. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th Street, two blocks east of the Mueller Brass Co. The Rev.

Memorials may be made to the Mount Zion Baptist Church. Edward R. Conley PORT SANILAC Edward R. Conley, 63, formerly of Detroit and Lum, died Monday, July 30, 1990, in Mercy Hospital. He was born March 22, 1927, in Detroit to George and Katherine Galli Conley, and had been a Port Sanilac resident for four years.

He married Marjorie A. Zech May 12, 1956. Mr. Conley retired from the city of Detroit as a mechanical maintenance foreman. He was a U.S.

Navy veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Lapeer Post 16. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Sonda of Metamora, Patrick and Cheryl of Imlay City, William and Dawn of Reed City and Steven and Rebecca of Lapeer; son, Michael of Lapeer; daughter, Jean of Lapeer; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Mark Bingey of Lapeer; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Conley of Harper Woods and Leonard Conley of Georgia, and two sisters, Marion Humphrey of Traverse City and Janice Luttrell of Roseville. Services were held Wednesday, Aug. 1, 1990, in Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. The Rev.

John Mab-arck officiated. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Estelle Deegan PORT HURON Estelle Deegan, 93, formerly of Burton, died Monday, Aug. 6, 1990, in Evangelical Home after a brief illness. She was born Dec.

20, 1896, in Houghton. She married Thomas G. Deegan July 10, 1919, in Houghton. He died Jan 27, 1971. Mrs.

Deegan was a member of the Houghton-Hancock Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She graduated from Houghton High School in 1915. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Douglas I. Fales of Burton; a daughter, Mrs. William (Marie) True of Port Huron; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas R.

and Julie Deegan of Flint; four grandchildren, Michael F. Fales, James W. and Lester David True and Michelle E. Graham; two great-grandchildren, and two sisters-in-law, Marcella Voetsch of Houghton and Ora May Deegan Fontaine of Florida. Services will be 10:30 a.m.

Thursday in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald R. Sperling of Gratiot Park United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Port Austin Township Cemetery.

Visiting is 7 to 9 p.m. today Arthur W. Baker, 86 Yeager Bridge employee PORT HURON Arthur W. Baker, 86, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 1990.

He is survived by his wife, Clara. Mr. Baker retired from Yeager Bridge in 1968. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Arthur Smith Funeral Home-South Chapel.

Visiting is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Evelyn M. Brochert, 75 DECKERVILLE Evelyn M. Brochert, 75, died Monday, Aug.

6, 1990. She is survived by her husband, Adam. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Port Sanilac.

Clark, 72 General Motors Corp. employee PORT HURON TOWNSHIP -Harold C. Clark, 72, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 1990. He is survived by a son, Harold, and a daughter, Kay.

Mr. Clark was a retired General Motors Corp. employee. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Jowett Funeral Home.

Visiting is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Edward R. Conley, 63 Foreman PORT SANILAC Edward R. Conley, 63, died Monday, July 30, 1990.

He is survived his wife, Mary. Mr. Conley retired from the city of Detroit as a mechanical maintenance foreman. Services were held Wednesday, Aug. 1, 1990, in the Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer.

Estelle D. Deegan, 93 PORT HURON Estelle Deegan, 93, died Monday, Aug. 6, 1990. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Fales and Marie True, and a son, Thomas. Services will be 10:30 a.m.

Brochert DECKERVILLE Evelyn M. Brochert, 75, of Lakeshore Road, died Monday, Aug. 6, 1990, in her home. She was born March 19, 1915, in Argyle. She married Adam Brochert June 15, 1940, in Detroit.

Mrs. Brochert was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Port Sanilac. She is survived by her husband, Adam; two sons, Frank of Birmingham and Michael of Bloomfield Hills; three daughters, Mrs. Nancy Jenoff of Warren, Mrs.

Marilyn Raiss of St. Clair Shores and Mrs. Jeanette Dinverno of Milford; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Patricia Brochert of Sterling Heights; 31 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Clarence Eck-enswiller of Argyle, Leo Eck-enswiller of Frankenmuth, Gerald Eckenswiller of Troy and John Ecken of Caro; three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Turner of Warren, Mrs.

Mary Spaetzel of Ubly and Mrs. Clara Brown of Cass City, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul on Aug. 11, 1984; a granddaughter, Mich-ele Voss on March 27, 1972; two brothers, J.D. and Lewis Eckenswiller and a sister, Mrs.

Burnett, 44, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 1990. He was born Jan. 28, 1946, in Detroit and had been an area resident for two years. He married Sally Raickovich Sept.

12, 1969, in Detroit. Mr. Burnett was employed at Carl W. Decker Inc. of St.

Clair. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Roger of Farmington Hills and James of St. Clair; four brothers, James, Ronald, Charles and Daryl and three sisters, Gwen, Gerry and Bonnie. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the L.C.

Visiting is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Wednesday. Harold C. Clark PORT HURON TOWNSHIP Harold C. Clark, 72, formerly of Mayville, died unexpectedly Sunday, Aug.

5, 1990, in his residence. He was born Aug. 4, 1918, in New Port, Ark. and had lived here for one year. His wife, the former Mary Margaret Doty, died March 5, 1989.

Mr. Clark was a retired General Motors Corp. employee. He was a member of Mount Zion General Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Harold N. and Claudette Clark of Port Huron; a daughter, Kay A. Rainey Rexton S. Rainey SARASOTA, Fla. Rexton S. Rainey, 84, of 6034 Pep-pertree Way East, died Sunday, July 29, 1990, in Sarasota after a brief illness. He was born Dec.

19, 1905, in Thorpe, Wis. and was an area resident for 32 years. He married Kathryn Wiedenhoeft Oct. 23, 1936, in Chicago. She died Feb.

9, 1987. Mr. Rainey attended Purdue University and the University of Illinois and was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He was a captain in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers.

He was a chief engineer for the National Motor Bearing Co. and Yale Rubber Manufacturing. During World War II, he helped design, and then supervised the construction of, the Catalina Seaplane. One of his planes discovered the Japanese fleet at the Battle of Midway. His factories received many Navy "E's" for excellence.

He was a member of the Formal Dance Club and a member of the Port Huron Golf Club for many years. He was a pilot, a marksman, an officer and a gentlemen. He is survived by a brother, Dr. Froelich Rainey, PhD, of Attarnun, Cornwall, Great Britain; a sister, Dr. Viva Rainey, PhD, of Avinger, Texas; two daughters, Karyn Rainey-Rohrer of Laguna Beach, Calif, and Blythe Rainey-Cuyler of Sarasota, a son, Derek Rexton Rainey of Portland; five grandchildren, Devin Rainey Cuyler of Sarasota, Kathrin Holt Rohrer of Laguna Beach, and Jocelyn Wiedenhoeft Rainey, Britta McLeod Rainey and Rexton Arthur Rainey, all of Portland.

Interment services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, 1990, in Lakeside Cemetery Chapel. Burial will be in the Lakeside Mausoleum. Arrangements were by the Arthur Smith Funeral Home-South Chapel.

Arthur W. Baker PORT HURON Arthur W. Baker, 86, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 1990, in Mercy Hospital. He was born Aug.

12, 1903, in Port Huron. He married Clara E. Johnson, April 19, 1950, at the United Methodist Church in Port Huron. Mr. Baker was a member of the Masonic Lodge 374, American Legion Post 8, Moose Lodge 158, Eagles 3702 and Disabled American Veterans 12.

He was past commander of the Black River Boat Club. He retired from Yeager Bridge in 1968, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Clara; two sisters-in-law, Grace Johnson and Helen Kirby, both of Port Huron, and several nieces and nephews. The Times Herald a Duene K.
