Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Sunday at the Clyne Funeral Home, 22322 Gratiot, Eastpointe, MI.

The Rev. Jim Thompson of Marysville United Methodist Church will officiate. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be 1:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Elizabeth J. Wakeham PORT HURON Elizabeth J. Wakeham, 81, of Port Huron, died Friday, Oct. 1, 1999 in Marwood Manor following a long illness. She was born July 20, 1918 in Port Huron, the daughter of the late Reginald and Sarah Breakey.

She married Gerald E. Wakeham. he died Feb. 24, 1987. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and John Roberts of Marysville; her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Beverly Wakeham of Fort Gratiot; her daughter, Connie Nordberg of Port Huron; her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Ron Moss of Jeddo; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her sister, Marge Hunnicutt of Santa Rosa, CA; several nieces and nephews; her brother-in-law, Kenneth (Ellen) Wakeham of Lakeland, Florida; and her sister-in-law, Marilyn Tonkavich of Kimball.

A brother, Francis Breakey and a sister, Marion Lorraine Breakey died earlier. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St. Pastor Don Sperling will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Visiting hours are 4 to 8 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Blue Water Hospice. Ruth Cawthorne TOPEKA, Kan. Ruth Cawthprne, 95, of Topeka, Kansas, formerly of Port Huron, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999 in her residence of natural causes. She was born May 13, 1904 in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of the late Rev.

Matt and Ethel (Penrose) Mullen. She married Christian G. Cawthorne on Nov. 29, 1929 in Yale. He died March 23, 1973.

She resided in Port Huron until moving to Topeka in 1994. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, and was a member of the First Congregational Church. She enjoyed doll collecting and gardening. She is survived by her daughter, Mary J. Funkhouser of Topeka; her son, Matthew M.

Cawthorne of North ville; her grandson, Timothy C. Funkhouser of Port Huron; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1 1 am. Monday in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave.

TTt Department of Social Services and Probate Court. Her specialties included adoption counseling, family and individual counseling and dealing with grief and loss issues. She also belonged to many professional organizations including the National Association of Social Workers, and the American Association of University Women. She received accolades throughout her career but was most proud of receiving the social worker of the year award for St. Clair County in 1997 and designation as a Special Child Advocate in 1998.

Marie met her husband Gilbert Font on a ski trip in January of 1968 through her brother John and was married on Sept. 25, 1971. After living in several locations throughout Michigan and in Puerto Rico, they eventually settled in Port Huron to raise a family. Marie had multiple interests including family, music, gardening, being near the water, children, reading, friends, conversation, listening to others and following the University of Michigan Football Team. She is survived by her husband, Gilbert M.

Font; a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Eric (Anna) Kociva; two sons, Thomas M. Font and John Michael Font; a brother, John W. Needham; nephew, Saeng F.

Needham; three aunts, Mrs. Lucille McMahon, (Rita) Beavers and Mrs. James (Evelyn) Kovach; many cousins and dear friends. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Sunday in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Funeral Liturgy begins at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 1999 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 1 1 a.m.

Father Larry Dunn of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will officiate. The Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron. Pallbearers will be Tom Kopp, John Ruthven, Sam Vogan, Chris Beck, Ed Ruffing and Dan Monaghan. Honorary pallbearers will be David Patrick Ernst and Tom Delacy.

30, 1999 in Port Huron Hospital following a short illness. She was born July 20, 1936 in Detroit, the daughter of Arthur and Teresa Schoenradt. She was a retired Home Care Work-, er. She attended Fellowship Baptist events in 1998 before he was diagnosed with cancer. He was a pitcher for Millersville State College in 1961, and his knuck-leball earned him a contract with the Detroit Tigers.

Boshaw PORT HURON Irene A. Boshaw, 80, of Port Huron, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999 in Marwood Manor following an extended illness. She was born Jan. 19, 1919 in Port Huron and was a life long resident.

She married Cecil L. "Bud" Boshaw on Nov. 17, 1937 in Port Huron. He died Feb. 2, 1994.

She attended Port Huron Area Schools. Irene was a retired loan officer from Citizen's Federal Savings (now Citizen's First Savings Bank) where she had 25 years of service. She was a charter member and past president of the B.P.O.E. 343 Vivians. Irene was a member of St.

Mary Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara L. Smith of Port Huron; her granddaughters, Mary Lynn Stump (Rick Privette) of Jasper, GA, Susan (Tony) Abraham of Grosse Pointe Park, Debbie (Marty) Prevost of Port Huron, Barbie (Jeff) Payton of Port Huron; her grandsons, Patrick (Jodi) Smith, Lennie (Angi) Smith, and David (Beth) Smith, all of Port Huron; 17 great-grandchildren, Daniel, Joel, and Doug Stump, Richelle Privette, Jennifer, Marty and Matt Prevost, Jaime, Chad and Courtney Smith, Adam, Ryan and Aimee Abraham, Lindsay and Kelsey Payton and Kaitlin and Emily Tallmadge; two great-great- grandchildren, Daniel and Faith Stump; her sister, Leota (Melbourne) Anderson of Bay City; and her sister-in-law, Eileen LaMotte of Port Huron. Irene was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Leonard G. Smith and her brothers, Leonard and Gerald LaMotte.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary Church. The Rev. C.

A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. DEATHS ELSEWHERE Eva Israelsen LOGAN, Utah Eva Israelsen, who lived long enough to have 271 great-grandchildren, died Thursday, five days before her 105th birthday. Mrs. Israelsen appeared in Life magazine in October 1993 in an article noting the birth of her 200th and 201st great-grandchildren.

Since then, her progeny has grown to 27 1 great-grandchildren and 40 great-great-grandchildren. She had 1 1 original children and they had 67 children. Born Eva May Butler on Oct. 5, art 7 Maurice J. Hill Maurice J.

Hili MEMPHIS, Mich. Maurice J. Hili, 68, of Memphis, MI died Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999 in Port Huron Hospital following a short illness. He was bom Nov.

20, 1930 in Gozo, Malta, moved to the U.S. in 1966 and lived the past 13 years in the Memphis, Wales Twp. area. He married Barbara Hedberg on May 29, 1988 in Memphis. Maurice was a gravel train truck driver in the area for many years.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, tinkering in his pole barn, and visiting with his many friends over coffee. He especially enjoyed all of his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Hili of Memphis; his daughter, Antoinette (Gregg) Marshall of Victoria, Australia; his three step-children, Brian (Darcy) Hedberg of Port Huron, Jeffrey (Kelley) Hedberg of Fort Gratiot Twp. and Laurie (Christopher) Budd of Port Huron; 12 grandchildren; his three brothers, Joseph (Mary) Hili and Jerry (Lina) Hili, both of Victoria, Australia and Charles (Vicki) Hili, Xoshra-Gozo, Malta; his mother-in-law, Eleanor Postill, Port Huron; his sister-in-law, Shirleyann (Gerald) Campbell of Port Huron; his brother-in-law, Paul (Barbara) Postill of Marysville; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 1999 in Port Huron Family Funeral Home, 1525 Hancock St. The Rev. Fr.

David Les-niak, Pastor of St. Stephen Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Pallbearers are Brian and Jeffrey Hedberg, Paul, David and Mark Postill, Christopher Budd and David Fitz. Memorial contributions may be made in Maurice's memory to the American Cancer Society. golf. FL7GG John F. Wismer John F. Wismer PORT HURON John F. Wismer, 85, owner and president of Wismer Broadcasting (WHLS-AM and WSAQ-FM, Port Huron) died Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999 in Port Huron Hospital.

He was born Dec. 25, 1913 in Port Huron and was a life long area resident. His first wife, Margaret Bowersox Wismer died in January, 1942. He married Rosemarie "Mac" Klump on Nov: 15, died Oct. 16, 1994.

Mr. Wismer started his career at WHLS Radio in 1946 as a sports announcer. Over the years, he owned radio stations in Port Huron, Bad Axe, Hillsdale, Grand Rapids and Ostego. Mr. Wismer brought professional hockey to the Blue Water area when he established the Port Huron Flags of the IHL in 1962.

He started cable television in Port Huron in 1968 and in Bad Axe in 1970. He was a member of the Port Huron Hospital Board of Trustees for more than thirty years. He was a past president of the Port Huron-Marysville Chamber of Commerce and of the Michigan State Chamber of Commerce; was campaign chairman for the United Way in 1957, 1977 and 1997; was a YMCA Board member from 1947-58; was past president of the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and of the Michigan Association Press Radio and Television Stations; was a long time Board member of the I.D.C.; was chairman of the Board of St. Clair County Supervisors in 1963; was chairman of the County Board of Auditors from 1966-74; chaired the Downtown Development Authority and served on the Tax Increment Financing Authority for several years. Mr.

Wismer was the 1997 recipient of the United Way Heart of Gold Award; received the Spirit of Port Huron Award for Civic Achievement in 1988 and 1997 and the cities Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997. He was chairman of the Grand Opening Ceremonies for the opening of the 2nd Blue Water Bridge in 1997 and also for the Re-opening of the Bridge in 1999. In 1998, he helped underwrite the John F. Wismer Communications Media Center at St. Clair County Community College.

Earlier this he received the Father John Hogan Humanitarian award for his tireless efforts to promote and support the community. He is survived by two daughters, Mr. and Mrs. John (Susan) Hill of Port Huron and Tami L. Johnson of Spokane, Washington; a son, Daniel J.

Wismer of Hudson, Florida; three grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Greg (Deborah) Treadway of North Carolina, Mr. and Mrs. John Wismer (Lau-ri) McDougall of Traverse City and Mr.

and Mrs. Kerry (Julie) Russell of Lenox five great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Barns of Dearborn; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Scott R. McDougall on April 13, 1977. Visitation will be held on Sunday and Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Marie Needham Font Marie Needham Font PORT HURON Marie Needham Font, of Port Huron, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999 in Port Huron Hospital. Marie was born in Port Huron to the late Frank and Marion Needham. Her only sibling John W.

Needham was born three years later. Marie lived in Port Huron throughout her childhood attending St. Joseph's Elementary School, St. Stephen's High School and St. Clair County Community College.

She attended Eastern Michigan University receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and taught first grade at Thomas Edison Elementary School. After teaching for several years she attended Michigan State University to pursue a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work. For most of her professional career she ran a private practice, working with multiple local agencies including the 1894, she met Victor E. Israelsen while attending Utah Agricultural College, now Utah State University, in the 1920s and later married him. They spent their lives on a dairy farm.

Mrs. Israelsen remained active, well past her 100th birthday, walking at least a mile a day. Jack Kiefer PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. Jack Kiefer, a two-time winner on the Senior PGA Tour who was diagnosed last year with cancer in his spinal cord, died Sept. 24.
