Galena, Aug. plumbing board, to examine persons who wish to engage in plumbing, will be established in Galena, with three members, the mayor, ex-officio chairman of the board of health, one master plumber and a journeyman plumber. The creation of such a board was occasioned by the fact that Galena is a second-class city with a sewer and water system, upon which only a qualified plumber may work. Appointment to Be May 1. The regular appointment 'of the board will be the first of May each soon after which the plabe and date of examinations will be announced.

The examinations will be of such a nature as to prove the qualifications of the applicant, and Will include house drainage, plumbing, ventilation, ond will be wholly or partly in writing. Persons passing the examination be awarded certificates qualifying him to engage in plumbing. The certificate will be signed by each member of the board and attested by the city clerk.
