The decision to contact Fuhr was made after the council, for the second time this month, discussed who should and who shouldn't be paying single billings each month for garbage service. In recent months multiple- family dwellings, apartments and duplexes have been receiving single billings, and the council believes it might be more appropriate to charge each individual family or unit for the service. According to Mayor Jack Gilding, the garbage ordinance points out that fees and charges are to be established on a monthly basis for all residents using water service, residents meaning each individual family. No action was taken by the council. The council also refused to act on a request from John Wiles, who wants the city to vacate a section of York Street that runs south of his property and comes Seven face charges to a deadend at the west side of his property so he can build a garage adjacent to his house.

The council will check with city engineer Glenn Jenkins to determine the location of water mains in the area before acting on the request. The council did approve the transfer of $25,000 from the city's general fund to a passbook savings account and the transfer of $4,000 from the federal revenue sharing fund for the same purpose. Also approved by the council was a $100 payment for option on the purchase of land as a possible sewer site and a $17,189.40 bid from Trico Paving for 1974 street maintenance.
