It happens all the time to Sam C. Mims IV, city administrator, and his son, state Rep. Sam C.

The Mimses know little about their namesake, other than the fact that he was born in Chulahoma in Marshall County, died in 1940 and was married to Jessie Thompson. They suspect that he made a living by farming.
