Frances L. Ambler NATCHITOCHES Frances L. Ambler, 77, died Saturday in the Natchitoches Parish Hospital. A rosary will be said at 8 p.m.

Tuesday in the Winnfield Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery.

Survivors are his wife; one son, Earnest Ambler of Natchitoches; three daughters, Mrs. Francis Moran of Chicago, Ill, Rita Jones of Detroit, Mich. and Marjorie Blackston of Natchitoches; one sister, Mrs. Luvelle Foster of Santa Cruz, Calif. and eight grandchildren.

John T. Wooten Sr. CALVIN John Terry Wooten 55, died Saturday afternoon in the Winnfield General Hospital after a brief illness. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Hixson Funeral Home of Winnfield with the Rev.

Leonard Free officiating. Burial will be in the Sanders Chapel Cemetery in Calvin. Survivors are his wife, Margie W. Wooten: three sons, Tommy Lee Wooten and John Terry Wooten both of Calvin, and Randall Wooten of West Monroe; one sister, Luna Endom of Lake Charles; two brothers, Tom E. Wooten of Natchitoches a and Elbert Wooten of West Monroe and two grandchildren.

Lillian J. Riser RUSTON Lillian Jemison Riser, 77, died Sunday morning in a local nursing home after a short illness. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert R.

Shepperson officiating. Burial will be, in the Riser Cemetery in Ruston. Survivors are three daughters, Hattie McGaugh of Sterlington, Anna Kay and Bessie Lazarus, both of Ruston; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Cleo Pugh MANY Cleo Pugh, 79, died Saturday afternoon in a local nursing home after an extended illness. Services will be held at 11 a.m.

D. R. Bolton. Burial will be in the Noble Cemetery under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Mr.

Ramshur died Friday morning in the DeSoto General Hospital in Mansfield after a long illness. Survivors are one son, John D. Ramshur of Chino, one daughter, Gail Riccardi of Covina, three sisters, Callie Louis and Viola Knott, both of Noble, and Edith Marshall of Hazelwood, two brothers, Alex B. Ramshur of Noble and Lloyd Ramshur of Merritt Islands, and six grand- children. Sam Johnson BERNICE Sam Johnson, 58, died Saturday night in the Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport after a brief illness.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church in Bernice with the Revs. Don Lemmons, Forrest Post and R. B. Middleton officiating.

Burial will be in the Bernice Cemetery under the direction of the Farrar Funeral Home. Survivors are his wife, Louise Bernice Johnson, a former state representative; one son, Sammy W. Johnson of Lafayette; one sister, Pearl Ellen Koehler of Iowa; five brothers, S. R. Johnson of Lowtell, Tom Johnson of Farmerville, Robert Johnson of Monroe, Don Johnson of West Monroe and Huey Johnson of DeQuincy; and two grandchildren.

TEXAS M.D. Swearingen GLADEWATER, Texas M. D. Swearingen died Saturday in a Tyler hospital. He was a 32 year resident of Gladewater and a retired insurance salesman.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the First Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Gladewater Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Malcolm Stone Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife; one son, M. D.

Swearingen Jr. of Plymouth, N. two Kirk Abercrombie of Gladewater and Mrs. Robert McCleskey of Galveston, and two grandchildren. Melvin Honeycutt TIMPSON, Texas Melvin Honeycutt, 77, of Timpson died Sunday morning in the Panola General Hospital in Carthage.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Timpson Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Sammy Eldredge officiating. Burial will be in the Prospect Cemetery near Timpson. Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Doris Powell of Logansport, two sisters, Agnes Wheeler of Center and Winona Mayhan of Texas; four brothers, Delmer Honeycutt and Troy Honeycutt, both of Houston, Roy Honeycutt and Murill Honeycutt, both of Texas; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Blanche L. Jones CENTER, Texas Funeral services for Blanche L. Jones, 75, will be held at 10 a.m. today in the Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Fuller officiating.

Burial will be in the Myrtle Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Jones died Saturday afternoon in the Memorial Hospital in Center after a short illness. Survivors are five sons, Leon Foster and R. H.

Jones, both of Nacogdoches, Lavelle Jones, Hardin Jones and Elbert Jones, all of Center; two daughters, Marie Willey of San Augustine and Elaine Williford of Center; one brother, Alton Davis of Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Foye Beck CENTER, Texas Funeral services for Foye Beck, 78, of Shelbyville will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Mills officiating. Burial will be in the Rather Cemetery.

Mrs. Beck died Saturday afternoon in a local hospital after a short illness. Survivors are her husband, Hartzell Beck of Shelbyville; one Dallas; one grandchild; and one daughter, Mary Ella Rushing of great-grandchild. Eva Mae Brooks CARTHAGE, Texas Eva Mae Brooks, 76, died Saturday afternoon in the Panola General Hospital after a lengthy illness. Services will be held at 11 a.m.

today in the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. C. C. Adkins and the Rev. W.

D. Leggett officiating. Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery. Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. M.

L. Ross of Kilgore, Lucille Brice of Longview and Addie Ruth Lawrence of Carthage, and two brothers, Herbert T. Brooks of Houston and Walter Elmo Brooks of Marshall. ARKANSAS Effie Baker Short MAGNOLIA, Ark. Effie Baker Short, 88, of Port Huron, but formerly of Emerson, died Saturday night in Michigan.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Emerson Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the Emerson Cemetery under the direction of the Lewis Funeral Home of Magnolia. Survivors are two sons, Warren Short of Emerson and Walton Short of Magnolia; one daughter, Marie Hayward of Port Huron, one sister, Mrs. Willie Turner of Portland, three brothers, Henry Baker and Erby Baker, both of Athens, and Roy Baker of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.
