Do your Christmas shopping early without large cash outlay. 7Z El Dorado, Dec. 5 (Special). Starting on a long road trip Thursday, the Lion Oilers, nationally known girls basketball team, open their campaign this week for the 1935-36 championship of the United States. The road trip, which will be through the midwest, will pit the girls against some of the outstanding teams of the country.

Boasting a powerful lineup, the Oilers have an all-Amertcan player for each position, with a couple more for good measure. Six members of the squsd have played on teams which have won the national title, and five helped to win, not only the North American championship from Edmonton, Canada, in 1933, but also represented the United States In the Women's World Games In London, 1934. A few of the outstanding players include: Hazel Walker, holder of the American record for free throws, scored when she scored 16 consecutive foul tosses as her team won the championship at Wichita tn 1934; Frances Williams, who represented the United States at the World Games in London and ran a lap in the relays in London; the Dunford twins, red-haired six-footers, and Lucile Thurman, stellar scorer. The first game of the road trip was with Little Rock, Thursday. Homer, Dec.

Due to the great exhibition between the Springhill Lumberjacks and the Dubach Rattlesnakes here Wednesday of last week, the Homer fans ar much enthused over Friday's game. Springhill won the right to enter the finals by beating Dubach. The growing feeling that something ahould be done about the situation before it pets completely out of control, was emphasized by the turbulent scenes in the Yale bowl at the end of the Y'ale-Princeton game. Spectators razed the goal posts at one end of the gridiron before the game was over and were stopped from doing the same thing to the other set of uprights only after officials fought them off. This was the 6econd occurrence of the kind In the bowl during the season. The goal posts were ripped down In the last few minutes of the Yale-Dartmouth game.

A free-for-all was narrowly averted during the Fordham-New York university game at the Yankee stadium, touched off by a first fight between rival players. At New Orleans, Tu-lane and Louisiana State cohorts waged a general melee after the gamp and the goal po6ts were taken apart despite the precaution of the home forces In having them wired and charged with electricity. Suggestions have gone so far as to Include elimination of the goal posts and along with It, the point after touchdown, but It is not likely the rules committee will give this serious consideration. "This would mean the elimination of the field goal as well as the try for extra point with kick and hardly seems Justified." said William S. Langford, secretary of the rules committee.
