The committee will recommend the pilot schools at the School Board's 2:30 p.m. meeting Wednesday. Booker T.

Washington and Fair Park high schools have been chosen as pilot schools for the motivational program, but a predominantly white school has not been selected. Being considered as the third senior high school are Huntington Southwood and Captain Shreve. junior high and an elementary school which feed into each of the three high schools will also be part of the Excel program. The committee is also expected to recommend an Excel budget of $126,288 to the board Wednesday. The state's share would be $123,000 and the School Board's share would be $3,288, with a major portion of the local funding to be in the form of office space, maintenance of an office and use of School Board equipment.

Included in the budget are the following items: director's salary, assistant director's salary, secretary-bookkeeper's salary, nine community liaison workers, nine teacher-advisers, fringe benefits for Excel employees, including retirement, consultants, legal-auditor fees, evaluation, insurance, $800; materials and supplies, postage, $750; printing, tapes and films, travel expenses, telephone, $200; public relations, and office space, maintenance and other items, $3,288. Excel is a program begun by the Rev. Jesse Jackson which aims at self-motivation and self-esteem among students and parents. The Caddo Parish school system is selecting only a few schools in hopes that the program will spread to others throughout the system, said Powell Layton of the Caddo Association of Educators. today at Ixive Chapel Methodist Church in Haughton for Lisa Renee Currington, 13, and Jana Lynn Currington, 8, of 1508 La Don Drive, Bossier City, who were killed when a tornado struck Bossier City Sunday morning. Officiating at the services will be the Rev. Lee Kneipp, pastor of Love Chapel Methodist Church, assisted by the Rev. Murrell Edward McCoy. Burial will be in Old Chapel Cemetery near Coushatta.

Services are under direction of the Bossier City Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Lisa Currington, a student at Greenacres Junior High School, was born in El Paso, Texas.She was a Girl Scout, a member of Methodist Youth Fellowship and the Green-acres Junior High School band. Jana Currington, a student at Meadowview Elementary School, was born in Fairbanks, Alaska. She was a Brownie Scout. Both had resided in Bossier City for the past five years.

They are survived by their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth W. Currington of Bossier City; their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

J.R. Lindsey of Haughton and M.C. Currington of Corsicana, Texas; their great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.E.

Lindsey of Chestnut; and two brothers, Jon Currington and Jeff Currington of Bossier City. Linda Sue Clark Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Plain Dealing Assembly of God Church for Linda Sue Clark, 25, of Vivian. Officiating will be the Rev. L.A.

Earl, pastor of the Plain Dealing Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in Plain Dealing Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under direction of Bailey Mortuary in Plain Dealing. Miss Clark was a native of Shreveport but had resided in the Plain Dealing-Vivian area most of her life. She was killed December 1 in an automobile accident near Vivian.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert D. Clark of Vivian; five sisters, Mary Frances Holtzclaw of Hosston, Lula Belle Clark of Vivian, Rose Marie Powell of Plain Dealing, Carol Ranee of Texas and Judy Clark of Benton two brothers, Walter Clark of Vivian and Charles Clark of Oil City. Lillie, McLain Harrington Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.

today in Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, for Lillie McLain Harrington of Monroe who died at her residence Sunday following a brief illness. Burial will be in Old City Cemetery in Monroe. A lifelong resident of Monroe, she was member of a pioneer family of the area. She was a frequent visitor to Shreveport and had a number of nieces and nephews here. Curtis R.

Gray Services for Curtis R. Gray, 65, of 1108 Christy St. of Bossier City will be at 10 a.m. today in Rose-Neath Funeral Home Marshall Street meet prior to the meeting to discuss other items. The Administrative Committee will meet at 1 p.m.

Last year, Southwood was expected to have a 1979-80 enrollment of more than 2,600 students and an additional assistant principal was added to the staff. However, enrollment is 2,470 this year. Homes in Carriage 2 residences hit by fires A Shreveport residence was heavily damaged in a fire Monday morning, and three hours later the attic of a Bossier City residence was destroyed by fire. Dalton R. Easley's one-story frame residence at 4410 Lakeshore Drive sustained heavy damage in a fire reported at 9:03 a.m. and extinguished at 9:29 a.m. Firefighters said the blaze originated in the kitchen and that the cause of the fire is undetermined.

At 12:35 p.m. a fire that started in a storage room of Robert L. Willis' 1485 Lilac St. residence went up a carport wall and heavily damaged the building's attic. G.H.

Farmer of 4838 Camelia saw the fire and notified Bossier firefighters. Gray, a native of Bernice, died Sunday in Bossier City General Hospital following a short illness. He had been a resident of Bossier City since 1947 and was retired from SWEPCO. Mr. Gray was a veteran of World War II, having served in the 86th Reconnaissance during the Normandy invasion, where he was injured. He was the recipient of a Presidential Citation, four Bronze Battle Stars, the Bronze Star with Oak Cluster and the Purple Heart.

He was a member of the Amigos Club, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Pine Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Gray is survived by his wife, Lois Gray of Bossier City one sister, Lorene McCallum of Bernice; and one brother, King C. Gray of Cotton Valley. Pallbearers will be Robert L.

Baker, Larry Ebarb, John Alexander, Wayne Gray, Dwayne Mason, Guy W. Mixon, Thomas A. Mixon, Jay McCallum and Mac McCrory. Eiosalea Poole Purcell Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McGuire Funeral Home Chapel in Vivian for Rosalea Poole Purcell, 58, of Vivian, who died Monday in North Caddo Memorial Hospital following a long illness.

A native of Okemah, Oklahoma, she had been a resident of Vivian for the past 11 years. She was a nurses' aid at North Caddo Memorial Hospital. Officiating at services will be the Rev. Merlin Liverman, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Vivian. Burial will be in Vivian Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, R.I. Purcell of Vivian; her mother, Gertrude Poole of Redondo Beach, three sons, Dalton Ray Purcell of Oil City, James T. Purcell of Longview, Texas, and Randal I. Purcell of Provo, Utah; two sisters, Nedra Parker of Redondo Beach, and Mrs. John Herald of Hawthorne, one brother, Kenneth Poole of Imperial, and 10 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Gary Lathem, Hugh Beene, Buddy Dupree, Russell Chisum Bob Thigpin and Buddy Thomas. Cuma Strain Garner Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Jonesboro for Mrs. Cuma Strain Garner, 83, of Jonesboro, sister of Mrs. Willene Hinkie of Shreveport.
