Wednesday OBITUARIES OBITUARIES Roman Oberski PARIS TOWNSHIP Roman Oberski, 69, a longtime Huron County resident, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1981, in his home. He was born Aug. 8, 1912, in Paris Township.

He married Irene Schefka Sept. 29, 1934, in Parisville. He was the owner and operator of the Oberski Hotel. He farmed Paris Township until 1961, when he bought the hotel in Parisville. He also operated a blacksmith and welding shop for 35 years.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 3776. He is survived by his wife, Irene, of Ruth; three daughters, Mrs. William (Rose Mary) Glass, Kalamazoo, Mrs. Ronald (Diane) Jackson, Elkton, and Pamela Oberski, of Ruth; 1 two sons, James O'Berski, Union Lake, and Gary O'Berski, Roscommon; 17 grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; three sisters, Mrs.

Anna Filipiak, Mrs. Sylvester (Isabel) Wodwaski, and Mrs. Theodore (Irene) Lamke, all of Ruth; five brothers, Julius O'Bee, Detroit, Theodore Oberski, East Detroit, and Albert, Isidore and David Oberski, all of Ruth. A sister, Victoria Wrubel, died earlier. Services will be held at 10 a.m.

Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Parisville. The Rev. Stanley Surman, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visiting is after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the ZengerSmigielski Funeral Home, Ubly. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Eleanor H.

Thomas PORT HURON Eleanor H. Thomas, 85, of 4582 Lakeshore died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1981, in Port Huron Hospital after a short illness. She was born Feb. 9, 1896, in Port Huron, where she was a lifelong resident.

She married Andrew L. Thomas. He died Feb. 10, 1978. She was a graduate of Port Huron High School.

She attended the University of Michigan. She was affiliated with the Lamba Rho Tau Charity League. She was a member of the Pi Betta Phi Sorority while at the University of Michigan. She also was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church and its Organ Guild and Altar Guild; the Port Huron Garden Club; and she was a former member of the Black River Country Club. She is survived by a son, Andrew Port Huron; a daughter, Mrs.

Douglas N. (Barbara) Price, Port Huron; six grandchildren; a brother, J. Gordon Hill, Grosse Pointe; and two sisters, Mrs. Harry M. (Bayne) Carey, Indian Rocks Beach, and Mrs.

Ormond S. (Elizabeth) Wessels, Birmingham. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Grace Episcopal Church. The Rev.

Canon D. Roy Lees, rector, will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Visiting is from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Allen SMITHS CREEK Henry J. Allen, 72, of 5761 Smiths Creek Road, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1981, in Mercy Hospital. He was born Sept. 15, 1909, in Tyre.

He had lived in Smiths Creek most of his life. He was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Marysville. He was a retired Grand Trunk Western Railroad Co. employee. He is survived by his wife, the former Georgena Sullivan; two sons, Lauren, Flint, and Roger, Marysville; a daughter, Mrs.

Sandy (Carolyn) Parrott, Marysville; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Arthur, of Ft. Lauderdale; and three sisters, Mrs. Sylvester (Tressa) Ritter, Elkton, Mrs. William (Margaret) Morris, East Jordan, and Mrs. June Payionk, Port Huron.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Arthur Smith Funeral Homes-South Chapel. The Rev. Cedric Whitcomb, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Marysville, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Visiting is from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the church. Pallbearers are Stanley Lewis, Carl Schroeder, Carl Fox, Angus McLeod, William McCumber and Albert Hoag.

3, 1981, in her home. Mrs. Williams was born Nov. 19, 1921, in Logan, W. and had lived in West Virginia most of her life.

She married Lafe Williams Jr. Dec. 3, 1973, in Algonac. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Mrs.

Williams is survived by her husband; two sons, Robert A. Werner, Algonac, and Lafe Williams III, Detroit; two daughters, Barbara Faulman, Algonac, and Peggy Lee Williams, Detroit; her mother, Rose Belle Chapman, Warren; two sisters, Ilene Bayly and Rita Barker, Columbus, Ohio; and eight grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Gilbert Funeral Home. The Rev.

Raymond Donahue, pastor of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Algonac. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

J.D. Boyne SAGINAW J.D. Boyne, 58, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1981, in Saginaw Community Hospital after a long illness. Mr.

Boyne was born Jan. 25, 1923, in Marlette. He graduated from Marlette High School in 1941. He never married. He is survived by a sister, Beulah Campbell, Marlette; and two brothers, Lloyd, Capac, and Chester, Saginaw.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette. The Rev. Christopher Anderson of the Hope Lutheran Church, Juhl, will officiate. Burial will be in Marlette Cemetery.

Kathleen V. Slack PORT HURON Services for Kathleen V. Slack, 68, of 1217 18th will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Lucas-Jowett' Funeral Home. The Rev.

Dr. Richard will E. Daniels, associate rector of Grace Episcopal Church, officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Mrs.

Slack died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1981, after a long illness. She was born Aug. 17, 1913, in Port Huron, where she was a lifelong resident. She attended school in Port Huron.

She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church and the National Educational Secretaries Association. She retired from the Port Huron Area School System as secretary after 25 years. She is survived by two sons, Phillip M. Slack, Ypsilanti, and M. Wesley Slack, Detroit; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

She was born May 9, 1903, in Vandergrift, Pa. She had lived in Detroit from 1943 to 1975. She had lived the last five years in Port Huron. She married Richard G. Vaughn Dec.

25, 1924, in Pennsylvania. She was a member of the O.E.S. Chapter in Port Huron. She also was a member of the Griswold Street Baptist Church and sang in the choir. She is survived by her husband; a son, Richard Port Huron; four grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Ednie, Vandergrift.
