A year ago, every top figure skater in the country was killed en route to the world chamDion- ships when their jet plane crashed outside Brussels, Belgium. Sunfield Rallies Past Vermontville. 61 to 60 (Special to The State Journal) SUNFIELD, Jan. 31 Forcing Vermontville 1-8 into numerous errors with a fourth-quarter press. Sunfield 3-7 turned a 13-point deficit into a 61-60 victory here Tuesday night, its second of the season in Central Michigan league play. Doug Lake, pouncing on rebounds like a hawk, flipped 17 points through the hoop in the fourth period to fire up the Wolves' comeback.

Sunfield took the lead with less than two minutes to play. Gary Lubitz intercepted a Wildcat pass and scored the clincher. Loss of Roger Piddington, Vermont ville's high scorer with 20 points, on fouls midway through the fourth quarter handicapped the Wildcat attack. Lake led both teams with 30 points. Sunfield won the reserve game, 45-36.
