She liked babies until hers came Dear Ann Landers: Some people who read this letter are going to think I am some kind of a nut. But I am no nut, and there are plenty of teen-age girls who think like me. Seeing this letter in print might get them off the kick I was on. So many adults have the idea that if teen-agers knew more about birth control, there wouldn't be so many unwanted pregnancies. This may be true for some but not all.

I always loved babies thought they were so cute. When I was 13 I was taking my favorite doll to bed at night, pretending she was my own baby. I started to date at 14. By age 15 I was into sex pretty heavily with three different guys. I actually didn't enjoy sex all that much, but I liked the idea of being real close to a male person.

My dad wasn't around home a lot, and I don't remember him ever hugging or kissing any of us kids. None of the guys I was sleeping with used any protection. They told me I was supposed to take care of that. I said I knew all about it and I did. But, deep down, I was dying to have a baby something that was really my own.

The family pet was my cousin who was 28 years old. She had a terrific husband, and I knew they had been trying to have a baby for three years. I kept thinking, "I'll bet that's one thing I' 'can do that Lois can't." So I went ahead and got pregnant. If my life depended on it, I couldn't tell you for sure which of the three guys is the father. It's a girl and she looks like me.

Mom said I could live at home, but I'd have to take care of the kid myself. (She works and I have two younger sisters.) So here I am, not 17 yet and stuck in the house with a seven-month-old baby. She was a colicky brat and cried for five months straight. I thought I'd lose my mind. I don't think babies are so cute any more.

They are live people a big responsibility and can put you through hell. Please print this letter. I wish someone had explained my head to me when I was 15 and couldn't see any farther than my nose. I'll be watching the paper. The Dream Became A Nightmare In Michigan Dear Michigan: Thank you for telling a different kind of story.

For you girls out there who see a little bit of yourself in "The Dreamer's" letter, clip it out and look at when your fantasies begin to take over. ANN LANDERS Dear Ann Landers: You have printed several letters about telephone manners. I hope you will find room for one more. I hate conversations that go like this: I place a call to Mr. Jones, a business executive.

His secretary answers, "Mr. Jones' office." I say, "I'd like to speak with Mr. Jones." His secretary asks, "May I have your name and tell Mr. Jones what the call is about?" What business is it of hers what my name is and why I am calling? perhaps the matter is personal between me and Mr. Jones and he would be darned upset if I gave her the information she asked for.

Please print this lesson in etiquette for some of those super-efficient secretaries. Third-Degree Burns Dear Miss Burns: The person who placed the call should identify herself or himself immediately. To expect a busy person to return a blind call is presumptuous. If you and Mr. Jones have something going, he should phone People all over this area are reading the Classified Ads just like you are.
