Former Everett star James Petty scored 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Stars, who slipped to 13-3 overall and 5-2 in Michigan Community College Athletic Association. Waverly graduate Nate Duncan scored 11 points, and former Everett standout Shawn Goins grabbed 14 rebounds against KVCC (16-4, 4-4). Everett graduate Andre Collins-Riddle scored seven points before being carried off the court on a stretcher because of a leg injury. The extent of the injury is unknown at this point. The Stars will host a makeup game against Lake Michigan College at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Pate leads LCC women to victory Former Everett High School standout Tanisha Pate came within an assist and two rebounds of a triple-double as the Lansing Community College women's basketball team defeated Kalamazoo Valley Community College 91-72 on Saturday at Gannon Gym. Pate finished with 13 points, nine assists and eight rebounds, while Jessica Teubert scored 21 points and made four steals for the Stars (10-7, 6-1). Sexton graduate Ashley James added 16 points, and former Everett star Sharonna Dean scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds against KVCC (10-10, 5-3). Swimmer dutten sets pool record COLUMBUS, Ohio Junior Ian Clutten set a Peppe Aquatic Center pool record of 55.19 seconds in the 100 breaststroke, but the MSU men's swimming and diving team lost 127-102 to 24th-ranked Ohio State on Friday. David Habel won the 1,000 freestyle (9:32.0), Johan Sunryd placed first in the 100 backstroke (53.61) and Justin Laskowski took the one-meter ' diving (241.58) for the Spartans, who slipped to 1-4 in the Big Ten. MSU's Adam Schmitt, Patrick Saucedo, Nick Harley and Matt Wisniewski also triumphed in the 200 freestyle relay (L24.56).
