More than 4,500 applications already have been received here for work on the ammonium plant to be built near El Dorado, it was announced today.

Workers will be hired through the local Arkansas Employment Service office. Capt. William C. Campbell, who will serve as quartermaster on the new project, said today that the first task of the construction crew will be to clear the grounds for the plant and build a hard-surfaced road to the Interior of the tract. None of the plant will be on the highway.

Funeral services were held today for Aimer C. Johnston, 57, prominent farmer of the Cottage Grove community who died about 8 o'clock last night after taking a Aose of cattle dip in the belief that it was cough medicine.
