Major projects will be cleared with appropriate local and state officials to assure compliance with development plans for the area. Most borrowers will receive loans advanced by private lenders guaranteed, up to 90 per cent, by FHA in rural areas and cities not over 50,000 population. Loan funds may be used for working capital, to purchase machinery and equipment, and to buy land, buildings and permanent fixtures. Patrolman John Thomas indicated that of 33 tickets written by the Capac Police in November, 25 of the 33 tickets were for speeding and only one of those speeding tickets was contested, but in that case the defendant immediately pleaded guilty when the trial began. Robert Lewis, councilman, who serves as police commissioner, explained that the radar would be purchased not to finance itself through tickets, but to slow traffic down which has been the case during its 30-day free trial period. "It will be an asset to the department," Thomas added. A new federal program to finance local business development will help improve the economic climate in rural areas of Michigan, according to Calvin C.

Lutz, State Director of Farmers Home Administration. Already letters of pre-application are being received, Mr. Lutz said, requesting financial assistance to develop businesses under provisions of the 1972 Rural Development Act. The Farmers Home Administration, a rural credit service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, oversees the program.

Fair Haven, was sentenced to pay $150 fine and costs or to serve 30 days in jail after having pleaded guilty to a charge of possessing marijuana. District Judge Walter W. Turton sen-l tenced Avery Tuesday, following presentence investigation. Avery was arrested by State Police Nov. 6 in Ira Township.

James t. warner, or au Bene River Road, Marine City, paid $75 fine and costs after he pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of careless driving. Warner was arrested by Marine City Police on a reckless driving charge at 7:45 p.m. Nov. 9 on Bruce Street.

Richard A. Przybylski 18, of 5384 Orchard Drive, Marine City, paid $35 fine and costs after he pleaded guilty to a charge of possessing opened beer in a car, reduced from a charge of furnishing alcohol to minors. MAR YSVILLE City Council this week confirmed appointment by Mayor Harry W. Stark of Frank Larned and Mrs. Ann Huffmaster to the Board of Review.

Larned's ternva reappointment, will run for three years. Mrs. Huffmaster will complete the unexpired term of Don F. Reid who died recently. Two years remain on Reid's term.

Muttonville party store robbed HARBOR BAEACH Huron County sheriff officers are investigating a stray bullet- incident at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday reported by Mrs. Charles Groll, Mcintosh Road, 2 miles south of Harbor Beach. She told officers she was near her back porch and heard a shot and the sound of breaking glass. She checked a nearby bedroom window and found a bullet had pierced the storm window, inside window, blind, curtains, and a bedroom wall, and then struck a lass figure on a shelf in an adjoining room.

Officers said it was a large caliber slug and that it came to rest on a shelf in the second room. They said they checked neighbors but that no one in the area had been shooting. In another matter, Council was advised that a cost-of-living increase has been implemented for members of the Department of Public Works in accordance with a union contract. Acting City Manager David L. Smith reported, The consumers index of the U.

S. Department of Labor has shown an increase of 10 cents an hour for the third quarter of 1973. The holdup men, wearing gloves, were described as about five feet, seven inches and five feet, 11 inches in height.
