Now he'i got It.

Nedomansky, 35, the leading icorer last season with the Detroit Red Wings, signed a 15-year contract Thursday. "I would like to spend i few more years of my life here, Nedomansky said. He became a free agent June 1. Under terms of a unique contract, the Wings would not have been compensated with a player from another team If that team had signed him. The agreement will provide him with "lifetime security," said Alan Eagleson, Nedomansky's agent.

Once his playing days are over, he'll take a front-office lob, most likely scouting, General Manager Ted Llndsav said. "You gave him a chance when no one else would," Eagleson told Lindsay. "I think that kept you In good stead." The New York Rangero also were Interested In signing Nedomansky. Nedomansky, a center, scored 73 points on 38 goals and 35 assists In his first full season with Detroit. He arrived In Detroit after more than three years with Toronto and Birmingham of the World Hockey Association.

Creighton down't face an easy task with' Bruins BOSTON Fred Creighton has gone from the frying pan to the fire of frustration In the National Hockey League. After four years of falling to get beyond the first-round of the Stanley Cup playoffs as coach of the Atlanta Flames, Creighton, 45, now will coach the Boston Bruins. For the past three seasons the Bruins have failed to get by Montreal Canadlens, losing two finals and a semifinals to the eventual Stanley Cup winners. "The success of Don Cherry makes it a very difficult Job," Creighton said of the man he officially replaced Thursday. In five seasons under Cherry, the Bruins finished first four times and second once In the NHL Adams Division, but never won the Cup.

Creighton was fired by Atlanta this spring after compiling a winning record and making four playoff appearances during 4Vi seasons. Basketball! Jazz face $60 million antitrust suit NEW ORLEANS Attorneys filed a 60 million antitrust suit accusing the National Basketball Association and the owners and players of the Utah Jazz of being part of a monopoly that deprived New Orleans of a pro basketball team. The suit, filed by the state and Hyatt Management, the company that controls the Louisiana Superdome, asked Civil District Judge Henry Roberts to issue an injunction forbidding the Jazz to play anywhere but New Orleans. Rudolph, 53, was forced to retire after suffering a pulmonary embolism during a playoff game in 1975. At the time, he had refereed 2,113 games, more than any man In pro basketball history. After retiring as an official, he served as a TV commentator for NBA telecasts. Funeral services were scheduled today in New York. "He was one of the greatest basketball officials of all time," said NBA Commissioner Larry O'Brien.

IS Regional planned for junior amateur tourney MARYSVILLE GOLF CLUB A regional qualifying tournament for the first Michigan Junior Amateur golf Championship will be played July 16 at the Port Huron Golf Club. The state championship is scheduled for Aug. 27-28 at Dunham Hills Golf Club in Milford.
