Mich. (AP) Aging Greg Landry, playing his first National Football League game in almost three years, passed for one touchdown and ran for another Sunday while the Chicago defense set a season record for sacks as the Bears beat the bedraggled Detroit Lions 30-13. Landry, who will turn 38 on Tuesday, completed 11 of 20 passes for 199 yards with three interceptions against the Lions, a team he played on for 11 years before being traded away and later jumping to the United States Football League.

Landry was signed as a free agent by the Bears on Dec. 5, following injuries to Jim McMahon and Steve Fuller. The Bears' defense broke in to sack Detroit quarterbacks-12 times and give Chicago 72 for the season, breaking the old NFL mark of 67 by the then-Oakland Raiders in 1967. The 12 sacks equalled a single-game high set by two other teams. Steve McMichael led the Bears' charge with three sacks, while Otis Wilson and Dan Hampton had two sacks each.

Eddie Murray kicked field goals of 52 and 45 yards for the Lions, who concluded the 1984 season 4-11-1. The Packers, the hottest team in the National Football League during the second half of the season, won seven of their last eight games to finish 8-8. That was good enough for second place in the National Conference Central Division behind the Chicago Bears. The last-place Vikings, 3-13, lost six games in a row and 11 of their last 12 to end the worst season in the club's 24 years.

Dickey played only the first half and picked apart the Minnesota defense, which allowed an NFL-high 484 points this season. The 35-year-old quarterback completed 16 of 20 passes for 198 yards, including touchdown tosses of 21 yards to Phil Epps and 2 yards to backup tight end Ed West. The Packers went ahead 31-0 when Dickey nudged over for a 1-yard score with 52 seconds left in the first half. Eddie Lee Ivery churned for 59 yards and a 5-yard TD burst in the first half and Al Del Greco kicked a 30-yard field goal. James Lofton caught a 26-yard RUSHING Green Bay.

New York also scored on Johnny Hector's 1-yard run in the final minute as Tampa Bay's defense relaxed in an effort to get the ball back and give Wilder a chance to gain more yardage. Wilder's last three carries netted no additional yardage, though, and he finished 15 total-yards-from-scrimmage short of Eric Dickerson's NFL record of 2,244. Dickerson topped the previous mark of 2,243 set by O.J. Simpson in 1975 Friday night in the Rams' finale against San 280 yards, tossed touchdown passes of 3 and 18 yards to Jerry Bell. The Tampa Bay quarterback also threw a 4-yard scoring pass to reserve tight end Jay Carroll, whose first NFL touchdown gave the Bucs a 34-7 lead with 12:10 to go.

Wilder, meanwhile, set a NFL record for carries in a season (407) and finished with 1,544 yards rushing. He also caught 85 passes three shy of Ricky Young's single-season mark for a running back for 685 yards, giving him 2,229 total-yards-from-scrimmage the third highest total in league history.
