Benedict Port Huron Marie C.

Benedict, 87, died Thursday, July 21, 2011 in Port Huron Hospital following a long illness. She was born September 13, 1923 in Port Huron and was a life long area resident. Marie married David L. Benedict on May 21, 1951 in St. Stephen Catholic Church.

She was a graduate of St. Stephen High School and served in the U.S. Navy Waves during WWII based in Coronado, CA. She was very proud to be Italian and was a devoted wife and Catholic. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling- especially to Palm Springs, California, Mexico and She was continually thankful for her many blessings and always saw the good in others.

She was a Mom to and you know who you are. She especially enjoyed helping others who were less fortunate. She was tremendously proud of her two children, Cindy and Mike, and did everything to ensure their success in life. She loved to party with her children and their friends, and was always ready to "go" and have a good time. She remained forever young her entire life.

This photo was taken at a sidewalk cafe in Venice, Italy. She travel there "on her own" as part of a lifetime dream trip to Austria, where her favorite movie, the Sound of Music was filmed. Marie is survived by her husband David L. Benedict of Port Huron; son, Attorney D. Michael Benedict of Port Huron and daughter, Cindy Marie Benedict of Laguna Niguel, CA.

Several extended family and nieces and nephews also survive. She was blessed with her best friend, Sue DeLano and her guardian angel, Theresa Mitchell who she so endeared. She was preceded in death by her parents Aldo and Isabelle Cocco and 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral Services will be 10a.m. Monday in St.

Stephen Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

Visiting hours are 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorials in memory of Marie may be given to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation. For guest book and information, please visit karrersimpson.com.

Daniel D. Webb Honolulu Daniel D. Webb, age 79, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2011. He was born on April 11, 1932 in Port Huron to Blanche (Molloy) and Hugh S. Webb.

Daniel was retired from the Federal Government having spent the last 22 years as a letter carrier with the Nonolulu Post Office. He served with US Marine Corps during the Korean War. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, and four of his siblings Virginia (Webb) Jones, (Hugh) Stephen Webb II, Morton Webb, and Barbara (Webb) Loree. He is survived by two of his siblings, Janet (Webb) Thayer of Port Huron, Michigan and William (Leila) Webb of St. Cloud, Florida and by 21 nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Daniel's wishes were that there be no service and that his ashes be scattered at sea off Kaimana Beach. Arrangements are being taken care of by Williams Funeral Services of Honolulu, Hawaii. Theresa Tonkovich Theresa Tonkovich, 76, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 20th 2011, after a long illness. She was a life time resident of the Blue Water area. Theresa loved to garden, and spent countless hours in her yard.

She is survived by her children, Connie Fidler (daughter) and her Randy Grosshans, Marty (Pam) Tonkovich (son), grandchildren, Tina Tonkovich and her Ken here Precour, Matt (Ashley) Tonkovich, and her great grandchildren, Aaron, Skyla and Hannah. Theresa has donated her body to science. Her memorial will be held on Saturday July 30th, at the Washington Ave. United Methodist Church, 1217 Washington Ave. Port Huron, MI.

Herbert E. Harris Port Huron Township Herbert Edward Harris, 80, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 21, 2011. He was born April 12, 1931 in Port Huron to the late Duncan E. and Alice E. Harris.

He married Alice J. Pickard on October 17, 1953 in North Street. Mr. Harris was a project engineer and lab supervisor at Prestolite Wire Company prior to his retirement. He served in the U.S.

Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of Marysville American Legion Post B.P.O.E. Lodge and Holy Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a Little League coach and volunteered at the YMCA teaching weight lifting and hand balancing. He enjoyed woodworking, stained glass and photography.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alice; a son, Brian E. Harris; a daughter, Carolyn J. (Patrick) Hurd; two grandchildren, Bryce a Brendon Hurd; a sister, Doralee Cowger; a sister-in-law, Mildred McElroy; brother-in-law, Vern (Betty) Pickard; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and dear friends, Del Nancy Sherman. He was preceded in death by a sister, Luella Williams. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Monday in PollockRandall Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Reverend Andrew Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery.

Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans. Pallbearers will be Patrick Hurd, Del Sherman, Darrin Sherman, Scott Land, Don Falk and James Partridge. Honorary pallbearers will be Vern Pickard and Bryce and Brendon Hurd. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Heart Association or Holy Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Charlie loved the outdoor, fishing and hunting were his passion. He also enjoyed bowling, golf and was involved with Little League. He was employed for 30 years at Prestolight in Sarnia until it closed.

After brief retirement re-entered the work force working at Areo Carbide and Sears. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia Ann (Gilmartin) Haywood, grandson Jason Paul Haywood, son-in-law David Charles Renshaw. He will be accepted in God's Kingdom and sadly missed. He is survived by his sons Charles Edward (Kathy) Haywood III of Escondido CA, Timothy John (Tammy) of Coco, FL, Christopher William (Brenda) Haywood of Port Huron; daughters Gayle Elaine (Lanny) Boddy of Escondido, CA, Maxine "Mickie" Elizabeth Renshaw of Fort Gratiot; ten grandchildren and twenty great -grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister Maxine McLaughlin of Pointe Edward Sarnia, Ontario, brother Douglas (Agnus) Haywood of Sarnia, Ontario and 20 adopted neighborhood kids.

Memorials to Bluewater Hospice. Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements by Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. 1 Charles Haywood Port Huron Charles Haywood, 84, passed away Tuesday July 19 unexpectedly. He was born on September 16, 1926 in Sarnia, Ontario.

He married Patricia Ann (Gilmartin) of Port Huron, MI on September 20, 1947. In his teen years he achieved expert marksmanship with the Sarnia Gun Club, winning Marne Marie Bibeau Marine City grandchildren play. We, who loved her, will celebrate her life with a gathering of family and friends at Marysville Park at 1 p.m. August 13th 2011. All who knew her are sincerely invited to Marne Marie Bibeau (nee Nowak) of Marine City passed away, April 21st, 2011 at the age of 92.

She was born Friday, November 13th, 1918, to William and Marie (nee Shackett) Nowak. She was born on the date of the WW I battle of the Marne and was named in commemoration of it. She joins Husband, Timothy Bibeau, daughter Susan Bibeau Jessup, grandson John Snay, five brothers and Her Parents who departed before her. She is survived by daughters Beverly (Edward) Horejs, Roberta (Daniel) Williams, son Timothy (Barbara) Bibeau, sister Mary-Louise Marx (nee Nowak), 22 grandchildren, 44 great grand children, and 19 great- great, grandchildren Except for 2 instances was a life-long resident of Marine City. A star athlete at Marine City High school, Marne was All-County in Track and Basketball.

She married her sweet-heart Tim (Toad), and made a home with him for the next 55 years until his death in 1990. She loved to travel and visited many major cities and attractions in the US and Europe. Her greatest joy, however, was living in Marine City surrounded by her many generations of family. Family gatherings, camping, playing cards with friends around the Big Table, celebrations, and holidays were eagerly anticipated. Her grandsons even took her (in her 80's) by quad to the ravine and down the trials to see deer, and watch her many join us in this celebration of her life.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated earlier that day at 9:30 at Holy Cross Church S. Water St. Marine City. Joseph F. Cody Clyde Township Joseph F.

Cody, 56, died Thursday, July 21, 2011. He was born March 13, 1955 in Mt. Clemens to Quinnie and the late Thelma Cody. Joe was employed with I.A.C. as a superintendent.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, watching the birds in his yard and participating in his five daughters' many activities as they were growing up. Joe making people laugh, had many wonderful friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Tonya; five daughters, Emily, Lauren, Elizabeth, Stephanie and Michelle; a step daughter, Nicole (Chris) Grzywnowicz; a step son, Nicholas Eagle; step grandchildren, Keli and Shane Grzywnowicz; father, Quinnie (Jeannette) Cody; two brothers, John (Susan) Cody and Paul (Kimberly) Cody; two sisters, Mary Christie and Therese (John Madden) Cody; a brother-in-law, Kurt Larson; his mother-in-law, Joanne Ward; several other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Cody Larson. Private services will be held.

To send condolences, visit pollockrandallfuneralhome.com Villanova Frances Laing, (nee Vizina) Villanova Frances Laing, (nee Vizina), 80, died unexpectedly at her Kimball home July 17. Born September 21 in Detroit, she was preceded in death by her husband John (Jack), whom she called Sandy. Villanova is survived by daughters Mary Beth (William) Babich, Pat Malburg, Ruth Laing, and Laura (Brian) Miller.

Also are grandchildren, Tom (Nikki) Coleman, Brad Babich, Annie and surviving, Amanda Miller as well as nephew Mark Ulmer, niece Mary Toth and trusted friend Michael Friedmann. A voracious reader, Villanova had a passion for gardening and spending whole summers at her cabin on the Pigeon River. Villanova loved telling stories of her childhood growing up in Ohio during the Depression living in a rectory where hath single mother Josephine was the housekeeper. relationshipers with were these surrogate priests fathers and throughout she her maintained life. Villanova was often amused by reaction to her unique first name, but thought it an advantage.

A "night owl" she would watch favorite movies into the wee hours. Mass will be offered July 28 at 11 at St. Anne's Church, Warren, where she was a member for some 30 years. Father Alberto Bondy will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkely.

She married Andrew Felk, Jr. on December 15, 1950 in Port Huron. He died June 21, 2006. Mrs. Felk served in the U.S.

Navy WAVES during World War II. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading mysteries, tending her flowers and most of all spending time with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Salliann Hull of Redford and Vera (Clark) Felk-Spraetz of Ann Arbor; two sons, Edmund Felk of Bull Head City, Arizona and Andrew (Rebecca) Felk of Kimball; six grandchildren, Brian Felk, Josiah Hull, Robyn (Chris) Sanders, Elizabeth Hull, Sarah and Laura Spraetz; four great grandchildren, Jessica, Daniel, Alexis and James Sanders; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Nancy Lagaisse; and many cousins in England, including special cousin, Shelagh.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, James Hull; and a brother, Douglas Sherlock. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in PollockRandall Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.

Steve loved fishing, swimming. Steve was one of the original organizers of the Blue Water Float Down. The first Float Down was the 1st Saturday in August, 1978. Steve loved being on the water also with Friends and Family. Steve served in the Navy during the Vietnam Era.

Steve was the son of Frank and Wanda Hoffman both are deceased now. He is survived by his brothers Frank Hoffman from Port Huron, Greg (Rose) Hoffman, Edgewater, FL, Tom Hoffman, Edgewater, FL. Steve had three nephews, Frank Hoffman III, Lee Hoffman and Robert Ernst. Steve has one niece Danielle Miller-Hoffman. A memorial will be held for Steve Hoffman, Saturday, July 30 at the Allied Veteran Cemetery on Gratiot and Kraft Rd, in Port Huron, MI at A Remembrance Celebration will be held at the VFW Hall on Pine Grove in Port Huron, MI immediately following.

James M. Kane, Jr. Kimball James M. Kane, 78, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011. He was born October 12, 1932 in Detroit to the late Anna and James Kane Sr.

He married Vera Zadauskas on February 2, 1952 in Emmett. Mr. Kane served in the U.S. Navy in the submarine service during the Korean War. He was a horse trainer and raced standard bred harness horses for the last 30 years.

Jim was a member of the Michigan Harness Association. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Vera; four brothers, Richard (Willia) Kane, Michael (Judy) Kane, Paul Kane and Kenneth (Cindy) Kane; four sisters, Patricia Gahrig, Josephine Kane, Jacqueline Ingles and Mary (Bill) Weiss; dear friend and sister-in-law, Eleanor Kane; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Patrick, William, Charles, David and Albert Kane. Cremation has taken place. No services are scheduled.

He was born April 17, 1950 in Port Huron. He is survived by his siblings, Delbert (Freda) Bates, Mary Sutton, Lawrence (Denise) Bates and Daniel (Lybrina) Bates; and two special friends, Gordon Franks and Julie Griffith. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Doris Marie Harvey Doris Marie Harvey, 91, passed away on July 14 in Titusville, Florida and a memorial service was held at Unity Church of the Space Coast. Born in Port Huron, Michigan to William and Eva Kleinstiver, she graduated from the city high school in 1937 and was a member of Sturgis Memorial Church.

A Cape Canaveral Space Pioneer, she worked with the RCA Advanced Systems Planning Group in the 1960's. She also held positions in the medical, hospitality and airline industries, retiring from the Colorado Springs Fire Department as an Dispatcher. Her interests included oil painting, genealogy, reading and writing poetry. Survivors are children: Bonnie Peterson of Greensboro, NC; John (Veronica) Harvey of Houston, TX; and Cynthia (Mike) Pietrofitta of Merritt Island, FL; seven grandchildren; 11. great grandchildren, her extended family and a host of friends.

She will be interred at Lakeside Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Memphis, TN, or an animal shelter of donor's choice. Nancy Ann (Powers) Brown Holt Nancy Ann (Powers) Brown, 80, of Holt, died on Sunday at home with neighbors and family. The daughter of Smith and Phylis (Wills) Powers, she and her brother, Tim, were born and raised in Capac among many dear aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In 1948, Nancy graduated from Capac High School, where she met her husband of over 40 years, Clayton Brown. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband; son, Tim; and brother, Tim. She is survived by sisters-in-law Gladys (Brown) Warner and Mary (Evans) Powers; children, Stacy Brown, Amy Brown, and Bridget (Terry) Seames; and grandchildren, Megan and Joshua. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 25 at St.
