SATURDAY, 'AUGUST B, 1044 JJLYTHBV1LLB-(AKK.) COURIER NKWS THKKK A MESSAGE FROM A MARINE IN THE SOUTHWEST PACIFIC TO THE FOLKS BACK HOME: On August 8th you will select a Sheriff to serve for the next two years. Naturally 1 would like to be at home to encourage and help my father, W. W. "Buddy" Watson, as much as possible in his race for this office. Uncle Sam says that I am needed here to help look after Tojo and his Yellow Rats, and I am glad to do what ever I can for my home and county. If you can give Dad a lift on the 8th, I promise you that you will have a good man for sheriff, I know, I have lived , with him for ,20. years.^,, My,best wishes .to you all. . Very truly, PFC. W. J. "Buddy" -CANDIDATE FOR- Fearless Capable Efficient Sheriff and Collector MISSISSIPPI COUNTY ARKANSAS HIS PAST RECORD QUALIFIES HIM FOR A MESSAGE FROM A MEMBER OF THE U.S. ARMY AIR FORCES At Lincoln, Nebraska TO THE VOTERS OF MISSISSIPPI COUNTY: Three years ago I enlisted in the U. S. Army Air Forces so that I could do all within my power to help whip the Axis and free the world of Dictators. Otherwise, as all of my friends know, I would be home pulling for my Dad, W. W. "Buddy" Watson who is a candidate for Sheriff of Mississippi County. During these three years in the Service I have had varied experiences as a mechanic and have worked on some of our big bomber$—at times helping to ferry them to other Allied Nations. Being away from home has given me a new appreciation of our own government and democratic way of life. I know that it is: important that courageous men hold bur' public offices. If my Dad is elected Sheriff, August 8th, I know from personal experience* we will have a good man. Since I am not home to help elect my Dad, I take this method of urging my friends to go to the polls on Aug. 8th and vote for W. W. "Buddy" Watson for Sheriff. Yours for victory, SGT.
