FUNERALS Violet D. Boettcher Lansing Violet passed away Saturday, July 25, 2009. She was born Dolly Violet Hatt on March 26, 1917 to Arthur and Anna (Janzen) Hatt at a silver mine near Whitcomb, Montana. She lived most of her life in Lansing and was a proud Eastern High School graduate. She married Bennie Boettcher April 21, 1940.

They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1990 and he passed away that August. She was also pre-deceased by her 5 younger siblings and her son Kenny. Violet is survived by her children, Larry (Sharon), Nancy Norton, Gilbert (Sherry), and 8 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 29, 10:00 a.m., at Our Savior Lutheran Church, St. Joe Hwy.

PJB PALMER, BUSH JENSEN William and Lillian Krieger passed away on Friday, July 24, 2009 at the age of 92. Maurine played organ at South Baptist Church for years and taught piano out of her home.

She enjoyed quilting and gardening. Surviving are her two children; David (Lori) Tomlinson of Charlotte and Jean (Brant) Schultz of Okemos with five grandchildren; Jesse and Sam Schultz, and alone, Zachary, Brandon and Julia Tomlinson. Maurine was preceded in death by her husband Donald Tomlinson in 2000. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at the Estes-Leadley Chapel with Pastor Fred Froman officiating.

Interment will follow at Maple Ridge Cemetery. The family receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. "Bob" Drouin Hastings, MI (formerly of De Witt) De Witt) Age 90, died Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Pennock Hospital, Hastings, MI; born July 1, 1919 in Hancock, MI to Alphonse and Rosana (Beauchamp) Drouin. He was the last survivor of the family of nine brothers and sisters.

He married Genevieve Hunt on July 14, 1945 and celebrated 61 years of marriage prior to her death in 2006. In 1927, he moved to Lansing, MI where he graduated from Lansing Central High School in 1937. He began a 40- year career as a die sinker with General Motors-Oldsmobile Division in Lansing, retiring in 1980. A resident of Lansing for 43 years, in 1970 Bob and family moved to DeWitt, MI where he lived until 2005 before moving to Hastings. Bob was elected councilman for the City of DeWitt from 1974-78 and was appointed to the City Council to serve as Chairman of Sewer and Water Committee and Chairman of Fire Board from 1980-82.

In 1991, he was voted DeWitt's Citizen of the Year. In addition, Bob served on the Advisory Council of the Michigan Commission on Services to the aging holding the Chairmanship in 1987. He and his wife also worked for Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes in DeWitt and Lansing. He was a long-time parishioner of St. Jude Community Church in Dewitt and most recently St.

Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hastings. Surviving are his 3 children; two daughters, Kathleen La Victor of Hastings and Patricia (George) Strother of Denville, NJ; and son, Dennis (Diane) of Saginaw, MI; and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass in celebration of his life will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009, at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N.
