Fields said reports Driesell may take over his job at the Maryland Education Foundation have been rumored since Driesell signed a 10-year contract in 1984. Driesell and his program have been criticized since the June 19 cocaine-induced death of basketball star Len Bias.

Lindgren, er Young, located in Honolulu Gerry Lindgren, who won 11 NCAA track titles and shared the world record at six miles, has been located after dropping out of sight nearly seven years ago. The former Washington State University runner lives in Honolulu and said he goes by the name "Gale Young." Lindgren, 40, abandoned his wife, three children and a Tacoma sporting goods store in 1980. At the request of state attorney Arthur Marshall, possession of cocaine and obstruction of justice charges were dropped.

Rea refused to dismiss four drug-related charges against Brian Lee Tribble, accused of supplying Bias the cocaine that killed him. Tribble's trial is set to begin Nov. 17.
