Harbor Beach Buys 24 Speed Warning Signs; Joins Board Harbor Beach, June 8 Purchase of 24 speed limit signs was authorized at the meeting of the city commission here Monday and City Clerk Harold Bunting was authorised to receive bids. Four of the signs will be of the reflector type and will be placed at the main entrances to the city. The commission voted $100 for a city membership in the newly reorganized board of commerce and authorized a permit for a fireworks display at the board of commerce July Fourth celebration, with the display handled by a competent operator. Other business included. approval of the bonds for plumbers, constables, the city clerk and city marshal payment of bills and approval of building permits.

Permits included: Alvin and Maxin Richards, a residence; O. W. Brow, residence and garage; John Helewskt a residence and George Harwood, a garage. The city has purchased a carload of calcium chloride and 35 tons '1 -t. 11 primary.

The prospect of a reversal in Delbert Lord's appeal to the New Mexico state supreme court for a new trial in the Robert Aubuchon slaying was voiced in a letter received Monday by Prosecuting Attorney Leonard J.

Paterson from District Attorney M. A. Threet Las Cruces, N. M. The New Mexico prosecutor indicated the supreme court of bis state had not definitely ruled on the motion for a new trial for the 19-year-old Delbert who is charged with the kidnaping, robbing and fatal shooting of Aubuchon, a 55-year-old tourist camp attendant In March, 1937.

The youth, formerly of Peck, is also wanted here for the murder of his uncle, Charles Lord, whom he admitted shooting in January, 1937, before hastily leaving for the Southwest District Attorney Threet wrote: "The supreme court of this state has not aa yet passed upon the appeal in the Lord case, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is a reversal, in which event it will be necessary to retry the case here." George Alfred Lord, 26, who with his brother, Delbert was convicted in August of the Aubuchon murder, is serving a 60 to 70 years sentence in the New Mexico state penitentiary at Santa Fe. Catherine Burke, 93. pioneer resident of this community and the widow of John Burke, died at 5:15 p. Tuesday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Horan, with whom she lived. Mrs.

Burke had been ill several weeks as the result of a fall early this spring when she suffered a fractured wrist Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a. m. Friday in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic church. Palms.

Rev. Fr. Anthony J. Busuttil will chant the requiem high mass. Interment will be in St.

Patrick's cemetery. Mrs. Burke was one of the oldest members of St. Patrick's parish. She was born April 26, 1845, in Montreal and came to Sanilac county with her parents in 1871 from Dublin, Ont.

After her marriage, April 5. 1872, she and Mr. Burke moved to a farm a mile west of Minden City where they lived until 1925. Mrs. Burke's father, Professor Sullivan, died at the age of 102, and her husband, who died in 1933, was 95 at the time of his death.

Mrs. Burke is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Thomas Donnellon and Mrs. Horan, both of Minden City; Mrs. George Blashill and Mrs.

E. C. Caughlin. both of Detroit, and Mrs. Frank Durning.

Rose Lake, and a son, Loren Burke. Brown City, and 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Richmond Miss Donna Powers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Powers, returned today from Mary-grove college, Detroit, for summer vacation.
