4 Tuesday,' June 1, '65 DeKa Democrat-Times Ann Landers -Answers Your Problems DEAR ANN LANDERS: Our boy friend is 20. (I will call him seven-yenr-cld daughter has a recurring bacterial infection of the sinuses which causes her lo cough a great deal. She is under a doctor's care. My husband is high-strung and unreasonable. He has decided nothing is wrong with the child, (hat she coughs just lo gel on his nerves. When he yells at her lo slop coughing she becomes nervous and coughs more. Last right Ihe girl had a coughing spell at the dinner tn- ble and her father said, "I'll bet you never cough during the day. You save all your coughing until I get home/ 1 The child began to cry and Iier father ordered her to leave the table. Please suggest something I can say so my husband will understand what he, is. doing to the child. - MEMPHIS MOTHER " ; Dear Mofher: It is difficult {if not impossible) to reason with someone \vlio, according to your own description, is "higfv strung and unreasonable.'' Your best bet is to enlist the help of your physician. Ask (he physician to telephone or drop your husband a note ex-l plaining the child's problem and urge him lo be patient and gentle. Willard.) He dropped out of high school during his senior year because he was offered ISO a week lo be llw assistant nager in a bicycle shop. The., ob lasted six weeks and he has gone from one Ihing lo another ever since. Willard hasn't had any kind of job for the past two;! months and this is what worries' ne. Two weeks ago ho drove over! n n new car. He had on a new suit and new shoes. He had ; bought me a beautiful pin with real diamonds in il. I don't like the fellows he angs out wilh and I'm afraid they are up to no good. When I 1 nsked Wiltard where he got the! money for the car and clothes nnd my gilt, he said, "I hit a lucky streak at (he track." My folks say I should report him fo the police but I can't bring myself to do it. I am worried sick. Please advise me. -BLUE EYES Dear Blue Eyes: Return the pin and lell Willard you can't accept gift from a fellow who is not employed. Tell him you think lie is involved in something shady andj that you don't want to see him again until he proves ha is interested in continuing his education, or gelling a steady job. If A cough can become a nervous habit that lingers long after Ihe infection is gone. If your lius-jhe doesn't straighten around, li band doesn't stop picking at Ihe advise you to slop seeing him II girl her cough could hang tin for or YOU might get into troub!e.|l years.
