The Third Annual Helen Owens Pageant, sponsored by the Slaughter Library Relay for Life, was held April 26 at the Forest Service Center and the program guide was Connie Stewart.Other participants included coordinator Carolyn Macon and Minnie Hunter. SLRFLteam captain Cynthia Melton welcomed and presided over the crowning of the contest winners, namely Miss Timaya Bridges, daughter of Janet Patrick and Master Jayden Rodriguez, son of Gerlisa Rodriguez.

Other contestants were Christian McDowell, daughter of Sherry Harper, Braylee Martin, daughter of Nikki Martin and Xzavies Rodriguez, son of Brandon and Keisha Rodriguez.
