Kansas City Stock Yards, Dec. 10, 1912. A liberal supply of fed steers here today caused that class to sell weak to a little lower, following a similar market on them yesterday. Butcher grades found a ready outlet at steady prices today, and stock cattle and feeders sold strong, the market in all respect very much resembling that of yesterday. The strength in country grades of cattle is caused by a good ordinary demand for that kind, augmented by the desire of feeders who have sold their first feeding of cattle to replace them with other cattle in the empty feed lots.

The lecture given by Dr. Colledge last Wednesday evening was very interesting and enjoyed by all present. Dr. Colledge visited chapel Wednesday morning at which time he gave the school a very helpful talk. Miss Baird visited relatives in the country from Friday until Sunday.

R. M. Bennett and Mrs. Geo. Roller of Newman, 111., each favored the club with solos which were highly appreciated.

The guests then played "42" until 5 o'clock when dainty refreshments were served. The Labette County Sunday school convention which convened here last Thursday and Friday was fairly well attended and a good program rendered in each session. J. H. Engle, state secretary was present, and all who know him, knows when he is present there is something worth while.

The organized men's class of Parsons with O. E. Wright, teacher, deserves praise and should be an inspiration to other men to follow in their rank. The delegates came from all parts and made it very intcrestiiig, even if gas did almost die out and Rev. Hartman have to rob his neighbors wood pile.

All were enthused and enjoyed each session to the limit. Mrs. J. L. Masters and sister-in-law, Mrs.

Wra. Poole, left for Waco, Texas, last Wednesday where they will be the guests of Mrs. daughter, Mrs. Dec Huffman, and family. The reaper of death has been in our midst and taken home Godfrey Bissin-ger, one of the early settlers of this country, living five miles south of here.

He had been ill for several months first Walter Davis of Parsons was the guest of his sister, Mrs. T. D. Richard last Sunday. Bert Pierson and wife were the guests of their son, James, Tuesday.

J. B. Hunt and family spent Thanksgiving day in Oswego with his brother, Tom Hunt. Mrs. Abel has so improved that she returned to her home last Sunday, although her hand is very bad yet with blood poison.

Arthur Rowe has a very sore arm caused from running a straw into it. Mrs. Charley Walker spent Thursday afternoon with Mrs. J. W.

Wimp. Mr. Mitchell and wife of Oswego were the guests of Mr. Silkey anil family, Saturday night and Sunday. Mr.

White of lumbus was in our midst buying cattle. J. W. Wimp, George and Jim Pierson sold to him. Fred Hensel and wife were in Oswego, Saturday.

A. Richard and wife of Oswego spent Sunday afternoon at the home of Arthur Rowe. We were glad to see new faces at Sunday school, we wish our neighbors would all come out and take a part. Sunday school at 10 o'clock every Sunday. Clay Smith and W.

K. Wimp came home Sunday evening after a week's sight seeing in Illinois. They went to Piano and from there to Chicago to at yesterday, a run slightly above normal for this season here.
