Mr. Dugger, a retired carpenter, died at 10:50 p.m. Friday in Republic Park Care Center. Friends may call at their convenience after 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.

2 students abducted; 1 shot to death The Associated Press ST. LOUIS Two women students were abducted outside a restaurant and driven to Illinois, where one was killed and the second injured, police said Saturday. The women, both students at Washington University, were abducted outside an Olivette restaurant Friday night. They were driven to East St. Louis, 111., where 22-year-old Melissa Aptman was shot and killed, police said.

Her body was dumped in a park. The second woman, who was found lying on an East St. Louis street, was reported in critical condition at a St. Louis hospital. Police would not say what injuries she suffered and her name was not being released.

The FBI took charge of the investigation because the women were taken across the state line. The university offered counseling and support services Saturday to students and family and friends of the victim. Joyce Bonacker, 63 A celebration of the life of Joyce Bonacker, Springfield, will be held at 1:30 p.m. today in Clara Thompson Hall, Drury College, under direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Mrs.

Bonacker, an art professor, died Wednesday in her home. Miss Burns, an industrial worker, died at 3:10 a.m. Saturday in Ozark Nursing and Care Center, Ozark, of complications of Down syndrome.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the mortuary. Meta Dodson Chalfant, 90 RICHLAND Services for Meta Dodson Chalfant, Richland, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Colonial Funeral Chapel, Richland, with burial in Oak-lawn Cemetery. Mrs.

Chalfant died Friday in Tri County Nursing Home. Friends may call at their convenience in the funeral home. Donald Lee Winfrey, 57 LEBANON Memorial services for Donald Lee Winfrey, Lebanon, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Colonial Funeral Chapel, Lebanon. The body has been cremated.

Mrs. Benedict, a homemaker, died jr Virginia Mildred Brazeal STRAFFORD Virginia Mildred Brazeal, 78, Stratford, passed away Friday, May 5, 1995, in the home of her daughter.

On April 22, 1917, In Manchester, Iowa, she was born to Charles and Mildred Neitert. She was a homemaker and a member of Assembly of God Church. She was united in marriage on July 5, 1935, in Thayer Ernest W. Brazeal, who preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 1993.

She was also preceded in death by two infant children, Richard and Elsie. She is survived by two sons, Bill, Strafford, and Roderick, Baton Rouge, three daughters, Sharron Yoakum, Strafford, Millie Dollins, Blue Springs, and Terry Gardner, Strafford; six sisters, Stella Mil-Ihouse, St. Cloud, Lorraine Kingore, Wichita, and Ester, Martha, Mary and Lois; three brothers, Sabe, Tom and Jim; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. 7, 1900, and died at 9:03 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 1995, in Americana Healthcare Center. Mr. Clas operated Clas Market for many years. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and served on the vestry.

He was married to Pat Patrick who preceded him in death. He later married Helen Wood who also preceded him in death. He is survived by a cousin and his wife, Herman and Hat-tie Clas, Springfield; a cousin, Mary Buxton, San Bernardino, a sister-in-law, Henrietta Wood, Springfield; and many relatives and friends. Jarvis, 60, Springfield, passed away at 3:42 p.m. Wednesday In St. John's Regional Health Center. He was born April 26, 1935, in Clinton to William and Ar-meldia Jarvis. He was a devoted father and husband.

He is survived by four sons, John Self, Jonnie, James and William, all of Springfield; two daughters, Prisclllia Clark, Springfield, and Armeldia Berry, Republic; a sister, Betty Lou Pyatt, St. Charles; and seven grandchildren. Love, Mom and Dad Zac and Dalton Jones Darrell Dean McCafferty DALLAS, Texas Darrell Dean McCafferty, 43, Dallas, Texas, formerly of Springfield, died Wednesday, May 3, 1995, in his home. The son of Paul and Mildred L. McNabb McCafferty, he was born Jan. 22, 1952, in Springfield. Mr.

McCafferty attended school here in Springfield, graduating from Parkview High School in 1970. He was very active in school activities and sports. At the time of his death, he was employed as a shoe salesman. He is survived by his father, Paul, Springfield; a daughter, Jamie Michelle; a son, Andrew Paul; a granddaughter; two sisters, Paula Trejo and Lou Ann Shipp, both of Springfield; a niece; and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1981.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 1995, in Greenlawn Memorial 99 Gardens under direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South. There will be no viewing or visitation. Shane Michael McDonald STOCKTON Shane Michael McDonald was born May 11, 1992, in Lamar, and joined our Lord in Heaven on May 3, 1995. Eula L. Daugherty Monks OZARK Eula L. Daugherty Monks, 87, Ozark, died Wednesday, May 3, 1995, in St. John's Regional Health Center. She was born May 13, 1907, in Mentor, the daughter of J.B.

and Lenna Williams Daugherty. She was a member of Ozark Christian Church. Mrs. Monks was a longtime local telephone operator and later retired as Ozark City Clerk. She is survived by a brother and his wife, Roy A.

and Lura Daugherty, Springfield; a sister, Kathleen J. Brown, Del Rio, Texas; a nephew, Ray Dean Daugherty; and a daughterlike friend, Sharon Kirby and her family, Larry, Karen and Karvel. Her husband of 60 years, Charles C. Monks, pre THE SERVICE OF hum THE TRADITION OF DEN2LD. CHARUNE MfiJ'li served the Springfield school system for 40 years.

She was a member of Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church, Kappa Kappa lota and Delta Kappa Gamma sororities, Sorosis and National Retired Teachers' Association. She is survived by distant cousins out of state and longtime friends, Boyd and Connie Sade, Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 8, 1995, in Maple Park Cemetery under direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.

Mark F. Daly Mark F. Daly, 79, Springfield, died at 9 a.m. Saturday in Mercy Villa. The son of Patrick and Grace Daly, he was born April 1, 1916, in Burlington, Iowa.

He was a retired sales representative, an Army veteran of World War II serving in the CBI Theater and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. He is survived by his wife, Margaret a son and his wife, Steve and Marilyn, Springfield; two sisters, Mary Catherine Daly, St. Louis, and Sr. Mary Gracita Daly, B.V.M., Indianapolis, and two grandchildren, Jesse P.

and Laura Anne Daly. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with burial with military honors in Springfield National Cemetery under direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Prayer services will be at 7 p.m.

Monday in the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the building fund at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. Mabel Judd Holestine FORSYTH Mabel Judd Holestine, 91, died April 30 1995, in her home. She was born in Anthony Harper, but was raised in Ava.

On Aug. 12, 1928, Mabel and Edward Vernon Holestine were married. After living many years in the St. Louis area, they retired to Forsyth in 1969. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughter, Frances Ruth Kin-kade; three grandchildren, two qreat-grandchildren; a sister, Cleo Judd; and a sister-in-law, Jewell Judd, both of Ava. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and her husband. Graveside services were Wednesday. May 3. 1995.

Stone West SEYMOUR Stone West, son of Daniel S. and Una Clementine Dickerson West, was bom Sept.

13, 1910, in Douglas County and departed this life Friday, May 5, 1995, in his home in Seymour at the age of 84 years, seven months and 22 days. He was a retired farmer and was united in marriage to Nellie Cornelison Sept. 15, 1943. They made their home on a farm for 51 years before moving into town a year ago. He accepted the Lord as his savior in 1991.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nellie; a niece, Ladina Cornelison, Springfield; a nephew, Keith Fitzgerald, Seymour, both of whom had lived in the West home; two brothers, Daniel, Seymour, and Gordon and his wife, Jessie Mae, Lebahm, a sister-in-law, Delores West, Seymour; a brother-in-law, Delbert Cornelison, Mounds, several other nieces and nephews who loved him dearly; a host of other relatives; and many dear friends. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 8, 1995, in Bergman-Miller Funeral Home with the Revs. Jim Ragsdale and Terry Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in Seymour Masonic Cemetery.

Slater FAIR GROVE Nolo Y. Slater, daughter of the late Tom and Rosa Dawson Williams, was born in Elkland on July 28, 1921, and departed this life on Friday evening, May 5, 1995, in her home near Fair Grove.
