SATURDAY, May 16, 1931, Longview Morning Journal 5-A Obituaries Mrs. Lorene Snyder OVERTON Services for Mrs. Lorene Snyder, 65, of Overton 1 will be 2 p.m. today at Pearson Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Maddox officiating.

Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rusk County. Mrs. Snyder died Thursday night at a Tyler hospital following a long illness. Born Sept. 17, 1915, in Brownwood, Mrs.

Snyder lived in the Overton-Rusk County area since 1931, moving from Brownwood. She was a member of the Laird Hill Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Walter (Ralph); a son, Fred C. Egger of Overton; three brothers, A.G. West of Brownwood, Marvin West and West, both of Lubbock; four sisters, Mrs.

C.R. Williams of Longview, Mrs. Vernie McMillan and Mrs. J.D. Dallas, both of Cross Plains, and Mrs.

Gladys Bosswell; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Margie E. Green HENDERSON Services for Mrs. Margie E.

Green, 70, of Route 7 Henderson will be 4 p.m. Sunday at the New Prospect Baptist Church the Revs. A.P. Bazer and Ray Grisham officiating. Burial will be in the New Prospect Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A.

Crim Funeral Home. Mrs. Green died 10:25 a.m. Friday at a Henderson hospital after a long illness. A native and lifelong resident of Rusk County, she was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Gerald of Henderson; two sisters, Mrs. Lois Green of Tatum and Mrs. Hazel Irwin of Henderson; three grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Family will receive friends at the funeral home 'from 6-8 p.m. today.

Miss Myrtle Chapman HENDERSON Services for Miss Myrtle Chapman, 81, of Route 2 Mount Enterprise will be 4 p.m. today at the Smyrna Baptist Church in Oak Flat community with Dr. J.W. Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Holleman Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A.

Crim Funeral Home. Miss Chapman died at 2:20 a.m. Friday in a Henderson hospital after a long illness. A native and lifelong resident of Rusk County, she was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church since 1920. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs.

Vada Lyles of Mount Enterprise and Mrs. Charlie Vaughn of Laneville; three brothers, Elton Chapman of Madisonville, and Obie and Sam Chapman, both of Mount Enter- prise. Herman L. Matteson HENDERSON Graveside services for Herman L. Matteson, 74, of Midland will be 2 p.m.

Monday at the Walker's Chapel Cemetery in Cherokee County with Joe Haley officiating and Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Matteson died at 10 p.m. Thursday at a Midland hospital after a long illness.

A Rusk native, he moved in 1933 to Midland, where he was a service station manager. He was a member of the Delwood Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Beulah; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy McQuerry of Midland, Mrs. Carol Hinson of Big Springs and Mrs.

Barbara Budemer of Georgetown, and two brothers, Perry of El Paso and Ernest of Jefferson. Ira M. Phillips MOUNT ENTERPRISE Services for Ira M. Phillips, 73, of Mount Enterprise will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church with the Revs.

Lou Thomas, Dick Phillips and Richard Hatch officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Heights Cemetery under the direction of Crawford A-Crim Funeral Home of Henderson. Mr. Phillips died Friday at a Nacogdoches hospital after long illness. A Nacogdoches County native, he lived in Mount Enterprise 66 years.

He was a retired grocer and a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lorene; a stepson, Tommy Jordan of Roswell, N.M.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Patsy Randolph of Beaumont; three nephews, Bob and Mike Phillips, both of Mount Enterprise, and the Rev. Richard Phillips of Beaumont; and a niece, Mrs. Marilyn Vaught of Mount Enterprise.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home p.m. to 8 p.m. today. Jimmie D. Bradford Services for Jimmie D.

Bradford of Longview will be 2 p.m. today at Lillie Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Willie A. Martin and Nash Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Jordan Valley Cemetery under the direction of Citizens Funeral Home.

Mr. Bradford died Monday at a local hospital. A native of Rusk County, Mr. Bradford worked for the Longview Street Department. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs.

Lena Beall. Mrs. Lazza Norris, Mrs. Joynell Lestridge, Mrs. Shirley Jones and Mrs.

Barbara Taylor, all of Longview; four sons, Jimmie D. Jr. of Dallas and James, Willie A. and Leon, all of Longview; a sister, Mrs. Etta Moore of Corpus Christi; a brother, Harvey of Henderson; 23 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Evelyn Cook Craig KILGORE Services for Mrs. Evelyn Cook Craig, 76, of Kilgore will be 2 p.m. today at the McCary's Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Alford Altum and Mr.

Harold Craig officiating. Burial will be in Kilgore City Cemetery under direction of Rader Funeral Home. Mrs. Craig died Friday in a Kilgore hospital. She had been a resident of Kilgore since 1938, coming here from Douglas.

Mrs. Craig was a native of Leon County and was a housewife. She was a member of the McCary Chapel Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Alton a daughter, Mrs. Harlan (Jean) Broussard of Port Neches; a sister, Mrs.

John West of Centerville; two brothers, Robert Lee Cook and Roland Seldon Cook, both of Centerville; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Ruby Lois McKinley Services for Ruby Lois McKinley, 58, of Spring Hill will be 2 p.m. today at Rader Funeral Home with the House honors survivors of Daingerfield shooting AUSTIN (AP) The Texas House has honored the families of five people who were killed when a heavily armed, flakjacketed gunman burst into the First Baptist Church of Daingerfield and opened fire last June.

Rep. Buck Florence, D- Hughes Springs, intro duced a resolution Friday commending Chris Hall, a 28-year-old contractor, the only survivor of the three men who wrestled the gunman out the door of the church on June 22, 1980. Ten other people were Alvin Lee King III, who was later charged with five counts of murder and 10 counts of assualt to commit murder, shot and wounded himself in the head with a pistol after he was pushed from the sanctuary to the churchyard, authorities said. "When a tragedy such as this happens in a community or area in which we live, it's always hard to realize why and for what reason," said Florence, who represents the small East Texas community in Morris County.
