Pheasants Impatient. Evidently all of the pheasants are not satisfied to wait until winter to get their share of the seeds. When we went into the patch lo measure the stalks and flower heads, one hen pheasant scurried away from us. The gardener previously had Hushed six of the beautiful birds out of the patch. The goldfinches' annual raid on the patch is expected soon.

Word has been receiA-ed here of the death in Miami on Aug. 30 of Agnes Leist Beebe, 66 years old, for 25 years a Chicago singer and teacher of voice. Mrs. Beebe. a friend of Madame Schu-mann-Heink, Victor Herbert and Kirs-ten Flagstad, had lived in Miami for the last 15 years.

She was born in Shelbyville, Shelby county. Her husband, George L. Beebe, and a son, Lu-cian, surAiAc. Hugo F. Moeller.

Davenport, Sept. Hugo F. Moeller, 61. first deputy city assessor and city clerk from 1906 to 1920, died today at his home. For many years he Avas a leader in local Democratic politics.
