More than 10,000 balloons will be released, each bearing a postcard to be returned to the person releasing it. Last year the prize winning balloon landed in Oyster, Va. TRIBUNE rholo.J one of the great hazards of summer the auto death and injury toll among children.

Those in the curbstone conference don't know, of course, that they are illustrating a danger. To reduce the heart breaking toll that comes with playing in the street or at the curb, the Chicago Motor club is sponsoring a contest for the development of home play spots in back yards. Older children are urged to play in the many parks and play grounds available thruout the city. season. Tho opening performance ot the eight weeks run will bo on Fri day, July 11, but tho title of the plaj; is as yet undecided.

There will bo 12 regular member! of this summer's cast, directed, aa before, by Sidney Breese and Mary Elizabeth Aurelius. Henry Kurth will again design the stage sets. Four of last year's actors, however, are gon with the draft. Most the playera spend the rest of the year with th Goodman Theater group in Chicago. Tho players occupy a white fram house on state route 63 on the south edge of tho village, shaded by Iarg oaks.

Before the house was a theater it was a restaurant. Before it was restaurant it was two houses. They were connected, forming one big room which now houses the audience. Mrs. Wirt Lawrence of Barrington, owner of the building, has taken such an interest in the players that sh has allowed them to tear out the ser ond floor of one house, making a tw story stage, flanked by property and dressing rooms; and to step the row seats so that they will not all bs on the same level.

The house can not bo used for much besidei a theater any more, but Mrs. Lawrenc is not discouraged because she rejected four other offers to rent the premises tills summer. The girls in the cast live in a near, by home, and the young men sleep oa cols on the second floor over the rear of tho theater. The stairs have, been a memory for years, and to get to th men's dormitory you sneak behind an old pedal organ and up a ladder. Congratulations! Bo certain tho diamonds yoi select arc worthy of her.
