The following brief account of an luterview with a Neosho man three years ago, and its sequel, will be read with keen interest by 'every citizen.

J. E. Talley, Jefferson MeCord Neosho says: "I had a constant pain in the small of my back and was caused no end of annoyance by too frequeut passages of the kidney secretions. In 'the morning I was hardly able to get up, owing to sharp pains across my loins and my sight blurred. I got a of Doan's Kidney.

Talley had. Foster-Milburu Buffalo, N. Y. Is money the root of all evil? Well, maybe so, but thore is a lot of deviltry caused by the thing that arises from the lack of money--credit. A close study might show that credit causes almost as much unhappiness as money itself.

An interesting side light on the credit question is given by the story of the Kansas man who is reported to have gone into his local merchant's store and deposited a sum of money with the statement that he wanted to leave it there and trade it out during the year. When asked for an explanation of this unprecedented action he said: "Well, you know I had mighty bard luck in 1913 and 1914 aud could not get together enough money to pay my bills. You carried me through these hard years and helped me to get back ou my feet. I had a good crop last summer and paid my bills, and Dow I have gold off my corn and I thought it was Do more than right to turn around and pay you in advance for what I am going to buy this season." Everybody appreciates the improbability of this story, but it sounds good. Any one who trades at a credit-giving store underetands that he is having to pay in return for the accommodation some small per cent on everything he' buys for the losses sustained by the proprietor of the store on credit accounts that were thought good, but turned out to be worthless.

And the evils of credit fall still more heavily on the FOR BRONCHITIS, WHOOPING COUGH, CROUP, COUGHS AND COLDS Make the Best Remedy at Home-128 Teaspoonsful for 50 cents. fair If everything manner as was the sold in as liberal and In buying this remedy, besides secura below named drug. ing an absolute guarantee of its efficiency gists are selling Schiffmann's Con- from these druggists, you also get about cause centrated for Expectorant, absolutely no eight times as much medicine as you complaint or dissatisfaction would in buying most any of the oldcould possibly arise from anyone. 1 MRS. N. P. STIPP PROPRIETRESS OF THE FAMOUS South Side Square Neosho, Missouri Washington, Feb. to Congressmen from William J.

Bryau, supporting the move for warning Americans off armed ships, begau arriving today. Representative Bailey of Pennsylvania received one and planned to read it to the House. Representative Bailey, after conference with Majority Leader Kitchin, however, simply made public the telegram, which follows: "I honestly hope that Uongress will speedily announce legislation refusing passports to Americans traveling on belligerent sbips, or still better, refusiug clearance to belligerent ships carrying American passengers. "No owner of belligerent ships will claim that he has the right to safeguard a contraband cargo with American lives, aud no citizen should be permitted to endanger the peace of the nation at a time like this. Ours is the greatest of the neutral nations, aud probably will be the mediator when the time comes for mediation.

It would be a crime against civilization as well 88 against our own people to become involved in this war and thus loan our army aud navy to a European monarch to use in settling his quarrels. "If Congress has the right to declare war it certainly has the right to promote peace by restricting citizens from taking unnecessary risks. A mayor keeps the people of his city out of the danger zone during a riot. Can your government afford to do less when the world is in riot?" "That is right," Bailey quoted Mr. Kitchen as saying when he read the telegram..
