OBITUARIES Virginia W. Morris Virginia Warren Royal Morris of Lampe, daughter of Dr. Warren McCrimmon and Clotilde Colella Royal was born Sept. 25, 1930, in Johnson City, and departed this life Dec. 31, 2003, at her home in Lampe, at the age of 73 years.

Her husband, Meredith L. Buz Morris, whom she married July 2, 1954, preceded Mrs. Morris in death. Buz and Virginia made 1 their home in the Lampe area since 1990, coming from St. Louis, Mo.

Virginia retired from the St. Louis Public Schools as an administration nutritionist. She was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics. Virginia enioyed volunteering her time as she worked with her husband on OACAC Stone County Advisory Board, University of Missouri Extension Council, College of the Ozarks Association, and Stone County Counsel for the Aging and Advisory Council with the Southwest MO Office of Aging. She especially enioyed working with Buz and others, as they were responsible for bringing the Tri-Lakes Regional Telecommunications Resource Center (TCRC) into southwest Missouri.

Her parents and one sister, Mrs. Jeanne Smith "Bebe," preceded Virginia in death. Survivors include her daughter, Debra Lee Morton and son-in-law George Patrick Morton of Shoreacres, Texas; two grandchildren, Patrick Lee and Britney Ann Morton; two sisters, Mrs. Jacqueline Kim and Clotilde Royal; several nephews and nieces; and her dearest best friend, Doris Layman. Her beautiful golden retriever, Gunner, will also miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, in Stumpff ChapelSouth with Rev. Allen Berkstresser officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m.

The son of Joseph G. and Mary Parker, he was born July 23, 1926, in Columbia, where he lived for three years. His family then moved to Jefferson City, where he was raised. A retired Maior in the USAF, I he was the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal. He had served in World War 11, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam.

He was a member of the Cherry Street Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Ola B.
