Jack Smith died unexpectedly at his family home on Monday, March 12, 2007. An active community leader, especially with the United Church of Santa Fe, the Board of Directors of St. Vincent's Hospital, and the Boy Scouts, he is survived by his beloved wife June; children Allan, David, Stephen, Martha, and Jeffrey; many grandchildren, and many friends. Pia was more of a mother to her granddaughters and all of her nephews and nieces.

She was a beloved person and a people person. She loved Spanish music, the old hymns at church and the novelas on TV. She also loved going to the casino and visiting with family. She worked for The Department of Veterans Affairs; Motor Vehicle Division and also private practice as a care giver for El Mirador. She also made many friends at the Dialysis Center where she took dialysis for over a year and a half.

GERARD LAWLESS Son of Robert J. Lawless of 3217 Louraine Circle, Santa Fe, and the late Janice Lawless Tate of Santa Fe, died suddenly on February 20, 2007, at his home in Marlborough, MA. He was 48 years old. He leaves behind his father, Robert J. Lawless and stepmother Violet, of Santa Fe; and his siblings: Barbara J.

Valdez, 78, Chili, March 13, 2007. Dolores Borland and husband Pat; stepbrother, Roland (Fergy) Ferguson and wife Georgia. Gerard was born April 8, 1958 in Alamogordo, NM. He lived at various times in Santa Fe, Truchas, and Albuquerque, NM, Baton Rouge, LA, and Watertown, Arlington, Peperell, and Marlborough, MA. He graduated from Santa Fe Senior High and served in the United States Coast Guard.

He earned a BS in Physical Education from the University of New Mexico, and an MS in Library Science from Louisiana State University. He was a programmer for Fresenius Medical Care of Waltham, MA, for the past 9 years. A memorial service was held in Waltham, MA, for family and co-workers on February 27. Gerard's interest included playing guitar, reading, chess, collecting coins, hiking, and running. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Memorial Service beginning at 11 a.m.

Thursday, March 15, at St. John's United Methodist Church, 1200 Old Pecos SF. A reception follows. Interment at Santa Fe National Cemetery will take place at 2 p.m. Roybal; and grandson, Francisco Roybal.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years, Remmy Roybal; son, Francisco and wife Luz; grandson, Stephan. Extended family: Robert Perea and wife Sandy, Roseanna Perea, Libby Perea, John Perea and wife Kathleen; brothers, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Libby lived her life to the fullest; no words describe her life better than those of Proverbs Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have not lack of gain. She does him good all the days of her life.

When she refused, the female, who was with a man, took her purse by force. A man told police a home he was house-sitting was burglarized in the 100 block of Calle Chiquita between Sunday and Wednesday.

Libby was an active member of Cristo Rey Catholic Church. She devoted her life to her family, as well as giving unselfishly of herself to extended family. Libby had such a great love of children and volunteered for many years for UNICEF. She had many talents and interests and was extremely talented in the art of Concha artwork. Libby was deeply loved and respected by all who had the great pleasure of knowing her.

She was an outgoing spirited woman with a love for life.
