She was bom Feb. 24, 1904, in Springfield, the daughter of Matthew D. "Dee" and Ella HII-liard Doran. On Dec. 23, 1921, she and Orion Thompson were married.

He preceded her in death Dec. 18, 1982. She was also preceded in death by four brothers; a sister; and a great-great-grandchild. She became a Christian at an early age, Joined Cassidy United Methodist Church and remained a member all her life. Survivors include three children, Louella Wilson and her husband, Clyde, Cheyenne, Wyo Thelma Friebe and her husband, Earl, Ozark, and Norman Thompson and his wife, Loeta, Lamar Ave grandchildren, Eddie Friebe, Mike Wilson, Linda Eden, Phillip Thompson, and Jan Hof-schulte; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 am. Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, In Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with the Rev. Robert White officiating. Visitation will follow until 11:30 a.m.

Freddie Wayne Bolin WILLARD Freddie Wayne Bolin, 68, son of Oscar and Ruth Burns Bolin, was born June 26, 1931, In Nixa, and departed this life Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, in his home. He was united in marriage to Berta Mae Landers on Jan.

29, 1954, and they were married 45 years. Freddie was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during the Korean War. He was a retired maintenance electrician after 36 years with Rey-co, Inc. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ruth; three sister, Helen, Carrie and Ova; and three brothers, Raymond, Hershel and Ray. He is survived by his wife, Berta Mae, of the home; two daughters, Vicki Samsel and her husband, Rick, and their children, Ryann Marie, and Heath Clayton, all of Wlllard, and Patti Hicks and her husband, Phil, and their children, Clara, Becca, and Levi, all of Willard; two sisters, Freda Apostolos and her husband, George, Auburn, and MadlTn "Bessie" Hopkins, Springfield, and a host of friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, in the Walnut Lawn DeGraffen-reid-Wood Funeral Home chapel, 2001 West Walnut Lawn, Springfield, with the Revs. Dar-yl Walker and Calvin Maberry officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery.

Francis J. Ellis, M.D.. 85, Springfield, passed away at 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, in Cox Medical Center South.

Dr. Ellis was born Jan. 16, 1914, in Eldon, to the late John Francis and Ida Mae Henson Ellis. He married Nancy Virginia Staples on Christmas Day 1941, In Keytesville, Mo. He graduated from the Washington University School of Medicine in St.

Louis in 1943, and joined the military, serving in the Army Medical Corps for two years. He and Virginia moved to Springfield where he practiced obstetrics and gynecology in the Women's Clinic from 1947 to 1994. He was an avid supporter of the Springfield Symphony for over half a century. He was a member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church. Dr.

Ellis is survived by his wife, Nancy Virginia Ellis, of the home; two daughters and their husbands, PattT Ann and Randall Cline, Springfield, and Nancy Virginia and Mark Jordan, Chicago, a brother and his wife, Harry L. and Su- Of' i Lloyd L. Hargus MARSHFIELD Lloyd L. Hargus, 91, passed away at 12:35 p.m. Dec.

19, 1999, In St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, Mo. Lloyd was born Nov. 23, 1908, in Webster County, to Charles and Dora Justis Har- 8 us. He married Jessie Gift In ecember 1930.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his sister, Marie Trapp; a nephew, Larry Trapp; and two firandchlldren, Cynthia and tephen Lewis. Lloyd attended Springfield Teachers College subsequently teaching in several one-room school houses in Webster County before moving to California, where he Uvea for 50 years, returning to Marsh-field In 1993. Survivors Include a son, Donald, Marshfield; five daughters, Thursa MacLean and her husband, Greg, Republic, Marian Spaulding, Colorado Springs, Elaine Nye, amd Emma Lewis and her husband, Larry, all of Thousand Oaks, and Martha Maser, Sacramento, 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Other survivors include a sister-in-law, Geneva McKeel; a niece, Doris Crosslin; and a dear friend, Mary Muse. His family and friends will miss his sharp wit, humor, friendship, wisdom and love.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, In Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield, with the Rev. Jack Day officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, north of Seymour.

Hargus' memory. HI Herbert Hadley Hutcheson MOUNTAIN GROVE Herbert H. Hutcheson, son of the late Samuel R. "Bart" and Mary Jane Price Hutcheson, was bom March 26, 1908, in Topaz, and departed this life Dec. 19, 1999, in Autumn Oaks Caring Center, Mountain Grove, following a long illness.

He was 91 year of age. Herbert moved with his first wife Ola and children from Topaz to Cabool, where he was employed by the Missouri Farmers Association. He later owned the bus station cafe in Cabool for several years. For the past 45 years, Herbert resided in Mountain Grove, where he enjoyed sharing his love of gardening and blue- grass music. He played the njo and fiddle at various locations and for the senior citizens.

He also loved baseball, hunting, and joke-swapping with his many friends. Herbert was a member of Southside Baptist Church, Mountain Grove, Mo. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bertie Friend Hutcheson. He Is survived by his son and his wife, Bart and Mary Hutcheson, Florissant, a daughter and her husband, Barbara and Donn Searte, Houston, Texas; a twin sister, Blanche Sutherland, Cabool, four grandchildren, Mike, Brenda, Madison and Brad; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.

Inez Kelly Inez Kelly, 88, Springfield. passed awav at 12:10 S.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, i Cox Walnut Lawn Hospital. She was secretary to the First Director of the Social Security Administration In Washington, D.C.

She was a graduate of wlllard High School and Draughns Business College. She was preceded In death by her parents, C. Frank and Maude Carpenter Jones; her husband, Francis P. Kelly; a sister, Gladys Roach, Memphis, and a brother, Clifford Jones, Lockport, La. Mrs.

He was an Associate Fellow of American Institute for Astronautics and Aeronautics (AIAA), as well as the Scottish Rite a 32nd degree Mason of the Moolah Shrine. During his working life, he worked for Lockheed Aircraft, Hughes Aircraft, and McDonnell Douglas, working on such diverse programs as the P-38 Lightning, and the Gemini Space Program. At the time of his retirement, he was vice president of Space and Aeronautical Engineering at McDonnell Douglas. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mik-al Szabo and Bertha Szabo, formerly Bertha Koos; his former wife, Bettye Szabo, formerly Mary Elizabeth Stute; his daughter, Pamela Bedford Bell; and his brother, Michael Szabo. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Adaire Szabo, formerly Elizabeth Rumley, of Springfield; his daughters, Pat Wall, Pahrump, Shari Nona, and Judy Wilson, both of the state of California, Carol Wilson, St.

Louis, and Catherine "Care" Bendock, Cave Junction, his stepchildren, Carol Hamilton, Springfield, Alan Hooker, Sacramento, and Betty Buckley, and Hal McKinnon, both of St. Louis, 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Rose Pitts, and Mary Kenlsell. Richard, the son of Victor and Orpha Douglas Grant, was born near Willard, and was a lifelong resident of the Ash Grove area.

He graduated from Ash Grove High School in 1944, and attended Southwest Missouri State. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He retired from the Bank of Ash Grove after-33 years, and served as executive vice president and cashier at his retirement. He was a member of Ash Grove First Christian Church, where he served as an elder.

He was a former member of the Ash Grove Chamber of Commerce, and a long time member of the Ash Grove Board of Education, where he served as secretary for many years. He served on the Ash Grove Nursing Home Board, Missouri Bankers Association and was a 50-year member of Ash Grove Masonic Lodge 100 A.F. A.M. He held membership in the V.F.W. 2293, and Paul S.

Killlng-sworth American Legion Post 307, both of Ash Grove. Richard and Maxine Hixon were united in marriage Aug. 16, 1948, and together they were privileged to share 51 years. He is survived by his wife, Maxine, of the home; an aunt, Josephine Douglas, Ash Grove; several cousins; a brother-in-law and his wife, Richard and Doris Hixon, Bel-ton, two nieces, Beth Hixon, Belton, and Kelley McCarty and husband, Bryan, Lamar, a grand-niece, Brooke McCarty; and an uncle and his wife, Ben and Mary Lou Hixon, Springfield, Mo.
