ON 20-YEAR MORTGAGE First Church of Nazarene Makes Final Payment MISSIONARY FUND--Rev. Paul D. They made the final payment of the 20-year mortgage on the church building, built in 1948. A special service will be conducted to burn the mortgage at 10:45 a.m., Oct. 8. Rev. Paul D.

Basham, pastor of the church for the past two years said "The burning of the mortgage is significant to our congregation n'ot only as an ac but also as a preparation for greater expansion in the future." Mr. Basham brings a personal contact with his congregation into his ministry. He sees a pastor as "a coach who doesn't do all of the work, one who makes sure every one gets to "A church gains," he said by training spiritually and intellectually. If we care we will prepare." 'Roy F. Brill of the Africa Inland Mission will speak at Faith Baptist Church, Sunday, at both the 10:45 a.m. and 7 p.m. service. Mr.

Brill became affiliated with the Africa Inland Mission 1932 and two years later, with his wife and child, was ient to the Congo. For twenty years he worked among 24 different tribes in what is known as the Oriental Province. He served as a member of the Congo Field Council, the executive arm of the mission in the field. For seven years he was chairman of the Rethy Academy Committee, a 'school for missionary children. Each furlough period has been spent in Bible Conference ministry in'the East and Midwest telling young people of the mission fields.

For the past five years, Mr. Brill working from Pasadena, has traveled extensively speaking of the needs in the Mission field of accord-' ing to Rev. Daniel J. Bartkow, host pastor. REV.
