July 30, 1993, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield. Mr. Knapp was a longtime resident of the Sleeper community area and was a member of Sleeper Pentecostal Church. Survivors include a daughter, Anna Mae Dean, Ash Grove; three sons, Richard Knapp, Little Rock, Robert Knapp, Springfield, and Darreil Knapp, Stoutland; four sisters, Anna Wilson and Alma Sherrer, both of Lebanon, Mae Ross, Rolla, and Ellen Brlley, Springfield, Ore; a brother, Roy Knapp, Oakland, Ore; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 pm Monday in Holman Chapel, with the Rev. Charley Myers officiating. Burial will be In Stephens Cemetery near Sleeper under direction of Holman Funeral Home, Lebanon. She was preceded In death by her husband, Ray Dodson. Survivors include a daughter, Alene McCor-mack and husband Otho, Springfield; a grandson, DarreH McCormack and wife Missy, Springfield; a granddaughter, Janell Wampter and husband Don, Springfield; two sisters, Mary Hlghtower, Marshfield, and Verna Dyche, Nlangua. Burial will be In Black Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Gladys Vera England LEBANON Gladys Vera England, 85, Lebanon, passed away at p.m. Friday, July 30, 1993, In Breech Medical Center.

She was the widow of the Rev. Bill England Sr. and was a member and pianist of Garfield Avenue Church of God. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Bill and Hazel England; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Richard Lathrop, all of Lebanon; three grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1050 a.m. Tuesday in Holman Chapel with the Rev. Ron Dunlap officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Memorial Park under direction of Holman Funeral Home of Lebanon.

Gault, 90, Homer, N.Y., formerly of Springfield, died at 2:15 a.m. July 27, 1993, In University Hospital, Syracuse, N.Y after a brief illness. She was bom November 3, 1902, in Springfield, and was the daughter of Edward and Laura Par-ten. She attended Central High School and was employed for 19 years at Style Retail Clothing Store in Springfield. In 1981 she moved to Cortland, N.Y., and to Homer, N.Y., In 1988.

Mrs. Gault was predeceased In death by her husband, George W. Gault, in 1966, and a brother, Terry Parten, In 1958. Survivors Include a daughter, Georgia Lane and husband William, Homer, N.Y; a granddaughter, Leanne Lane, Cortland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins In the Springfield area. Services will be at 2 p.m.

Monday in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel, with the Rev. J. Wesley Ummel officiating. Interment will be In Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m.

Abbott, 74, Springfield, died at 7 p.m. Thursday in Primrose Place Health Center. iShe was born July 5, 1919, in Springfield, to Willard and Martha Jane Whaley Mongold. She was united in marriage to James H. Abbott September 24, 1938, in Springfield.

Mrs. Abbott retired from Cox Medical Center where she was a medical secretary In the pathology department. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She loved her church. Helen was preceded In death by her parents.

Survivors Include her husband, of the home; two sons, Bill J. Sr. and wife Beverly, Springfield, and James Tyler, Texas; three brothers, Ross A. Mongold, Mound City, Joe W. Mongold, Ft.

Myer, and Harold Mongold, Tuscumbia; two sisters, Jean Bair and Virginia Harpool, Springfield; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 am. Monday in Temple Baptist Church under direction of Ayre-Goodwin-Uee, a Heritage Funeral Home at Rivermonte, With the Rev. Hal Bergen officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery.

Beck Martene J. Beck, 57, Springfield, passed on at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 1993, following a long illness. Mrs. Beck was born August 11, 1935, in Nevada, Iowa, to Arnold and Elsie In't Veld.

After completing her education in Pel la, Iowa, she married Kenneth Beck in 1956. Together they farmed near Reinbeck, Iowa. In 1960 they moved to Hlgh-landville, Missouri, where they raised cattle until they moved to Springfield In 1964. In recent years they owned and operated the Black Widow Bow Company in Highland-ville. She was an accomplished musician, using her talents as pianist, organist, and vocalist In Sel-more Christian Church, where she was a member since 1960.

She also participated In several Springfield Little Theatre productions. Marlene succeeded in her life-long ambition of serving her family, friends, church and Lord. She was preceded In death by her father, Arnold; a brother, Butch; and a son, Scott. Survivors include her mother, Elsie and husband the Rev. Ralph Mennlng, Pella, Iowa; a sister, Judl Dingeman and husband Paul, Des Moines, Iowa; her husband, Ken; a son, Dan Beck and wife Joyce, Pleasanton, Calif; a daughter, Julie Graebel and husband Ben; a granddaughter, Jessica, all of Greenwood Village, Colo; a daughter, Beckie Pearl Vannice MARSHFIELD Peart Vannice, 102, Marshfield, passed away July 31 in her home.

She was a long-rime member of First Baptist Church of Marshfield and Chapter 439 of Eastern Star. She was preceded In death by her husband, Ernest, and two daughters, Frances Dooley and Ekla Conrad Smith. Survivors include two daughters, Joann Robertson and husband Glenn, Marshfield, and Jeanette Steffens, Springfield; seven grandchildren, Allan Conrad, Marshfield, Car-la Scarf, Ozark, Janet Steffens, Louisville, Ky Becky Gillespie, Strafford, Steve Steffens, Willard, Jim Steffens, Kansas City, and Andrew Steffens, Springfield; ten great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her long-time caregiver, Lena Creech. Private graveside services will be Tuesday In Marshfield Cemetery with the Rev. Clyde McClaln officiating under direction of Arthur's Colonial Chapel.

Greg McGilvry March 6, 1969 August 2, 1987 Mom, Dad and All Loving, Caring Family William Horace Knight OSCEOLA William Horace Knight, 87, Osceola, died July 29, 1993, in Truman Lake Manor, Lowry City, of natural causes. Mr. Knight was bom in Osceola October 26, 1905. He spent his entire life there.

After attending William Jewell College and Central Business College, he returned home to work for his father at Knight's store, which he later owned and ran until he retired in 1982. He had a strong sense of responsibility and was an active supporter of civic causes, particularly the Osceola Billy Gene Meek NIXA Billy Gene Meek, 63, Nixa, died at 9:25 p.m. Thursday In Missouri Veterans Home, Mt. Vernon, after a long illness. Billy was bom April 30, 1930, in Plainview, the son of Harry and Christine McCroskey.

He was a member of Nixa Church of Christ and a graduate of Nixa High School.
