Walt Disney provided Mickey's voice until 1946. The project is being headed by Roy Disney, Walt's nephew and vice chairman of the company. Both "gag" and "story" cartoons will be featured.

Shania Twain "Come On Over" Mercury The big story on Shania Twain is how this so-called country singer's last album managed to sell more than 12 million copies. Clearly, those kind of numbers transcend Nashville, so it's a mystery how her pop-rock sound has come to be called country, any more than John Denver or Olivia Newton-John's music was in the '70s. Spfld, 865-5675 Bobby Brown's songwriting skills don't match up to his fine voice on his latest, "Forever." without sounding like a mere reworking of the original. Wray wrote most of the dozen tracks, which include the thundering instrumentals "Geronimo," "Moped Baby," "Night Prowler" and creepy "Shadowman." Now in his early 60s, Wray still has his guitar chops. But he's never been a great singer and proves it by growling through "Heartbreak Hotel" and breathlessly trying to kap up with the tempo of "Young Love." The less said about the dreary "I Can't Help It" the better. Outfitted in his trademark leather and shades, Wray looks cool and his playing is great. The singing could have been shelved, but he's still one of rock's most powerful guitarists.

Bobby Brown "Forever" MCA Bobby Brown's latest opens with Whitney Houston cooing "Nobody does it Maybe around the Houston-Brown household, but the former prince of New Jack, a catchy blend of hip-hop and has been gone for a while and may have a problem repeating the spectacular success of his earlier albums. Never lacking self-confidence, and possessed of a fine voice, Brown clearly isn't as talented when it comes to writing songs. Unfortunately, he wrote or co-wrote just about everything here. The lyrics, mostly "I'm so groovy" themes or sexy ballads, are undistinguished, mere shadows of classics like "My Prerogative," "Don't Be Cruel" or other classics written and produced for him by Babyface and L. A.

Reid. A good example of Brown's deficiency as a writer is the plodding funk of the first single, "Feelin" Inside." He also misses the mark with dull ballads like "She's All I Need" (dedicated to Houston) and "Been Around The World." Brown's name will hype the initial sales, but he's not likely to do the multiplatinum business of his earlier solo projects or work with New Edition. That group's recent reunion did nicely, and Brown might be well-advised to keep in touch with his old pals. They might want to get back together sooner than they thought would be necessary. Reviews of recent releases and reissues appear Sunday in Life Times.

They were preparing to do Forbert's then-next album, "Streets Of This Town," and offer songs from that project and an odd mix of rock oldies. Cut on a four-track recorder, the sound is a bit rough at times, but the good cheer of Forbert and his three-man touring band make up for any technical deficiencies.

One of those players is drummer Bobby Lloyd Hicks a Springfieldian and member of the Skeletons who shares vocals with Forbert including a rollicking "One After 909." Forbert plays it straight on his originals, including a never-issued "Runaway Train Of Love" and things like "All Because Of You." You also get two bonus tracks of acoustic originals. Covers range from "Rockin' Robin" and "Sweet Pea" to a Ritchie Valens tribute and Robert Johnson's "Stop Breakin Down." There's little of Forbert's seriousness here "soul-searching," he calls it but he and the guys in the band have a good time. That counts almost as much as thoughtful introspection, especially in rock 'n' roll. LlnkWray "Sliadowman" Hip-0 Link Wray's menacing "Rumble" was one of the best and most influential instrumentals of the rock era. A talented performer, who has been playing and recording since that 1958 classic, Wray set a high standard for himself that he's never equaled.

hrtp Jwww pro net Twain the contemporary country of soulless groups like Little Texas. The 16-song album all written by Lange and Twain opens with the party-hearty "Man! I Feel Like A Woman." From then on, the hooks fly left and right on bouncy ditties such as "I'm Holding On To Love (To Save My Life)" and "Love Gets Me Every Time," which opens with a guitar straight out of Def Leppard, then quickly fills in with a strident fiddle. "Honey, I'm Home" and "Rock This Country" have an even harder edge. It's not all fun and games in Sha-nia's world. She offers a couple of semi-thoughtful songs in "If You Wanna Touch Her, Ask!" and "Black Eyes, Blue Tears," about an abusive relationship.

The one strong ballad is the dramatic "From This Moment On," a duet with Bryan White. It may be hard for grumpy critics to understand how Twain's non-threatening, genre-jumping music has found such a huge following. But it has, and if you overlook the calculated here-a-fiddle, there-a-steel guitar country flourishes, you'll find a lot of catchy songs that could be big chart items. Chris Camozzi "Suede" Discovery Chris Camozzi has been a busy session guitarist for some time, embellishing music by Michael Bolton, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand and rr) other top-drawer pop singers. He now steps out with a sparkling collection of jazz-funk.

There is an attractive soulful ballad in "I Never Want To Live Without Your Love," with Vision, a new vocal group. It's also done as an instrumental. The other nine tracks focus on Camozzi's guitar skills and most have a harder edge. The opening "Suede" has nice runs that would please the late guitar master Wes Montgomery. "Miles Away," with a muted trumpet by Rick Braun, moves on a fluid, slightly funky melody while "Snap It Tight" has a brighter, infectious feel.

"Smooth Sailing" is even harder, with nice backing from saxophonist Richard Elliot Camozzi enjoyed success in 1996 on New Age-oriented Higher Octave with "Window Of My Soul." This has a more mainstream easy jazz feel that should generate more interest than his early, mellower work.
