ed today all 1 5 PAGE 6 THE CORPUS CHRISTI CALLER, FRIDAY, AUGUST 21, 1936 First Run-off Primary in 18 Years For Texas Voters With 110 Big Races Thompson Opposition Is Attracting Most of State's Attention AUSTIN, Aug. 20-P-For the first time in 18 years, Texas will have a run-off primary election Saturday with no race for governor or United States Senator to be decided. Contests for those offices and all others except two for which 8 state-wide vote is cast were settled in the first Democratic primary July 25 when 1,071,372 ballots tumbled into boxes for a record. Interest which blazed in campaigns of other years was absent. and prediction's were heard freely that the vote would not exceed 000.

Absentee balloting was light, and several counties planned no elections. In one state contest. Frank Morris of Dallas, speaking from a hospital bed, denounced official acts of Ernest 0. Thompson, former army colonel running for Northe, was railroad on the stump, commission Thompson led Morris by more than 280,000 votes in the first primary, but failed by a few and to obtain a majority over all his four opponents. Terrell Was Leader In the other state race.

George B. Terrell, former congressman, was seeking to unseat J. E. McDonald. running for another term as Commissioner of Agriculture Terrell also led in the initial primary.

Three nominees from congressional districts, 63 for the state house of representatives, four for and 1.067 feet from the east line of section 50, Welder Ranch Subdivision. Plymouth Oil Co. In the Taft field. Humble Oil Refining Co's No. J. W.

Mayo has been completed at a total depth of 3,980. twenty-two feet in sand. On 24-hour gauge through oneeighth-inch choke it flowed 119.34 barrels with 1.275 pounds casing pressure and 550 pounds tubing pressure. The well is 162 feet from the south line and 1.163 feet from the east line of A 320-acre tract in J. I.

W. Ottman survey. In the Plymouth field, Plymouth Oil Co. No. 56-C Welder has been completed at a total depth of 5.638 feet but no gauge had been made.

It is 466 feet from the south and west lines of section 49, Welder Ranch Subdivision. Magnolia Petroleum Co, No. 8 Corpus Christi Bank Trust has set -inch casing after recovering 150 feet of oil and 100 pounds pressure in seven minutes on A drill stem test from feet. On a previous test from feet, the No. Corpus Cank developed 320 feet of oil and 175 pounds pressure.

The sand was topped at 5,875 feet. It is in section 24 of the Fourth Addition of the Taft Farm Lands. Centennial Oil Co. No. 3 Chiltipin Creek, Tract 3 has set casing on bottom at 5.613 feet.
