GIVE All the Family SLIPPERS To Combine in Event East Lansing and Michigan State college will celebrate the new Christmas season in a community ceremony Sunday evening.

For East Lansing people, the ceremony will mark the success irO ful climax of an all-out community effort to dress the main street in Yuletide garb. At the college, the ceremony will be the traditional lighting of college students in Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Pi Beta Phi sorority and the Kiwanis Christmas decora tions committee, will begin at 7:30 p. m. Sunday.

College singing groups and the chorus from East Lansing high school will take part in the ceremonies and John A. Hannah, pres ident of the college, and Mayor Max R. Strother of East Lansing 'Abbott rd. entrance to the campus. I College officials, student leaders and townspeople are joining together in the ceremony for the first time to welcome the holiday season in colorful fashion.

Sparked by the East Lansing Ki-Wanis club and the Merchants" association, the campaign to decorate he college city's main street was hailed as a heart-warming success. NATIVITY SCENE The two organizations, with the help of the city's churches and the city government, have completed arrangements and the financing of decorations along the medial strip of Grand River ave. Central decoration will be a Na MEN, WOMEN, CHILDREN DANIEL GREEN OL. B. EVANS LITTLE FALLS A DECAMP GIFT CERTIFICATE IS A WELCOME GIFT will participate.

Lighting the great evergreen on the campus is a traditional event at the college dating back to 1925. Originally, the lights went on a tree near Morrill hall but in 1935 Pres. Hannah changed the decora tions to the Abbott rd. entrance so the tree would be visible to the motorists passing on Grand River ave. and to tne people or -ast tivity scene with full-sized figures placed in a manger.
