For many years, he worked as a car salesman for dealerships in the Iowa City and Marengo areas. On June 20, 1990, he married Carolyn Ann Yedlik at a ceremony at Kent Park, in rural Johnson County.

Sandy enjoyed life, playing football, basketball, baseball, swimming, biking, bowling, hiking and of course his golfing. Those Iowa I law key es always had a fan when it came to Sandy, especially in the later years with the Iowa Wrestlers. With all of tliis, his family and friends meant the world to him and him to them; he loved enjoying life with those around him.
