There will be social plan dancing on Thursday nights, and park plan on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights for an indefinite period.

James Dunn Is Popular In Ho llywood James Dunn, young New Yorker who landed in Hollywood an unknown and earned the rank of star in his I first picture, rolled up to the studio' gates in Beverly Hills the other morn-' inz with half a dozen box lunches rattling around on the floor of his' rofld.ter. the big idea?" asked the! trior n. who'is so hard-boiled that- noth; surprises him. "Appetite gone; haywire, or do yott think vou're Daddy long to a flock of hungry or-'.

Dunn hsncrd over his loot It's a long he said. "Par? these out to some of the prop Along the wide boulevards leading to the Fox studio, the girls who stand at the curb and sell box lunches to passing motorists look upon James Dunn as either a eater or a great philanthropist. When they see his smart roadster come skimming along, they know they have a customer. If there are two girls in the same block, he buys two lunrhcs. If; there are three girls, he buys three.

The word has got around, and pre-; 'erred sflling positions along his line of march are at a premium. But it isn't James Dunn's appetite that prompts his generosity. It's sentiment. One year, before he creamed nf Hollywood and fame, he decided that he would go into business for himself. He became a salesman for portable lunch wagons.

Business Good i With his likable personality and his; knack of making friends quickly, he; made a good thing el it. The country, was dotted with lunch agons which-he had put into circulation. He helped I make the touring public meai-cons-tious and hot-cog satisfied. At the end of the season he counted his profits, and found that his commissions amounted to $10,000. The fact that he afterward lost the whole amount in the stock market didn't destroy his youthful pride in the success of the venture.

He still has a soft spot in his heart for the lunch wagon and box lunch industry. Even now he doesn't seem able to ride past a girl in a bright-hued frock, standing at the curb and offering a smile and a box lunch both for one price. James Dunn was born in New York city, and went to school in New Ro-chelle. His father was in the brokerage business, and James earned his first spending money working for his father. Even that didn't teach him that the stock market has a habit of biting the hand that feeds it.

Having decided that if he were going to be an actor the way to start was to begin, he got work as an extra at the Paramount studio in New York. In "Night Stick" In 1927, he got a taste of stage training in the role of a cop In "Night Stick." A season of stock in Engle-wood. He so im pressed executives and Frank Borzagc.1 director, that he was selected to ap-. pear opposite Sally Eilers in "Bad; Girl," based on Vina Delmar's novel. According to Borzagc, who launched more than a score of film i favorites on their careers, Dunn has1 the most striking screen coupled ith inherent histrionic ability, that he has seen in any young-player since the advent of sound. 1 One clause in young Dunn's contract is rather out of harmony with the actor's practice of buying bo-lunches in quantity. By its terms, he must not exceed 157 pounds in weight, if he wishes to continue to play opposite such beauties as Sally James Dunn is fond of rich descerte.

But he is fonder still of playing leads with Miss Eilers. Every morning, on the bathroom scales, he makes certain that he is, still within his contract by a safe margin. 1 Sally O'Neil, absent from the screen for a number of months.
