LADIES' 1 ffiM39-mG(30 3 pe rotortstohm fanner. PHIS TED AXD PUBLISHED BY WILLIA9I I It SINGER. BftZftAe-FftSHior SPRING sur.ir.iER Miss Charlotte Drinkwater, Thursday April 29, 1875. LOCAL MATTERS. MLHtnerlDress laker, Brownstown, Indiana, AT THE PRESENTS HER COMPLIMENTS to the ladies of Jackson county, and respectfully in vites them to call and examine her entirely new Seymour Sayings and Doings.

FRUIT PROSPECTS. Dui Bakhes Simeon Stockdell was out on the ridge on Thursday last and visited the orchard of Dr. Jas. H. Green, examined quite a number of peach buds, and of budded fruit found fully one-fourth alive, and of seedlings found a greater proportion alive also.

Judging by what he saw and heard he thinks with a favorable season in future we may yet see goodly number of peaches in our county this year. THE O. 4. M. RAILROAD COMPACT.

The O. A M. R. R. Co.

have purchased the Springfield and Illinois Southeastern rail road, running from Beardstown to Shawneetown, a distance of 228 miles, which crosses the O. M. at Flora, for which they pay $1,596,000. In order to be nearer the center of their business, it is said they propose erecting a round house at Vincennes, dispensing with the one here, which will conyel them to run engines from Cincinnati and St. Louis to Vincennes without change, which are long runs, especially for freight engines.

Let this be true or not, business seems to be on the look-up here generally, for buildings are being erected all parts of the city, and the sound of the ax, hammer and almost every tool of iron and steel, is heard now from morning until night. IMPROVEMENTS. Burkhart Matt begin the erection of their brick Real Estate Transfers. We are indebted to the courtesy of James K. Br. CARKFfL In these days, when tight hats, hot air, and sedentary occupations, cause the hair to fall out, it is a matter of no little importance to know which of the hair preparations are of any value. The majority, as has been frequently proved by the first dermatologists, or hair-doctors, possess little or no merit. Such being the fact, it is consoling to those who are afflicted to know there is really one good article, which is recommended and used by the first medical authority, and has stood everv test, many vears. This preparation is Hall's "VEGETABLE SICILIAN HAIR RE-NEWER, a truly Scientific compound, which is unquestionably the best preparation of the kind now before the American public.
