Brownstown township, is a native of Jackson connty. He was born September 20. 1832. and is a son of Archibald and Lydia (Dixon) Clayton. Our subject has been a life-long resident of this county.

His occupation has always been that of farming. He was married November 24. 1854. to Rebecca A. Findley, a native of Jackson connty.
