Marilyn was a warm-hearted woman who added love and laughter to the lives of everyone around her. She relished her life and its joys, and faced the family's tragedies with grace and love.

Marilyn grew up in Minneapolis, raised her family in Red Wing, and moved to Albuquerque in 1975. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 64 years, Kenneth; children, Carol (son, Michael), Sandy (husband, Dean), and Chris (wife, Holly and children, Mara, Erik and Louisa); and her many dear friends and neighbors. Marilyn will be reunited with son, Dennis (and wife, Tina); son, Steven; and parents, Gertie and Halvor Butler. Her children will gather to honor her at the Red Wing Oakwood Cemetery in springtime. Janice was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Twosom Sunday School Class in Albuquerque.

She worked as a Christian Educator at various churches in Albuquerque until retirement. She was very active in the Fellowship of Christian Educators in New Mexico. Janice loved to garden, travel and care for her grandsons. The family would like to thank all the friends who have shown support through cards and prayers over the past four years of her battle with breast cancer. John was preceded in death by his great-grandparents and his uncle, Richard Lopez. He is survived by his father, Sergio Perez and his mother, Geraldine P. Lopez. He is also survived by his son, Isaiah Richard Perez; his siblings, Sergio Perez Daniel Lopez, Fabian Lopez, and Adrian Lopez; along with his grandparents, Lucy Lopez and Adalberto and Margarita Perez. Born at the family farm near Amsterdam, Idaho she moved to New Mexico in 1942 residing in Las Vegas, Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Albuquerque, Pajarito Village and Corrales. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Charles A. and Celeste R. (Sligar) Human, husband Daniel Pfaff, daughter Barbara E. Pfaff, and granddaughter Ashlee G.

Pfaff. She is survived by her sons Norman Pfaff (Janice), and Richard Pfaff (Jan), five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her family appreciates the gracious care she received from the staff of the memory unit at Sandia Springs Senior Living Community and the services of SolAmor Hospice. Arrangements are being handled by Direct Cremation Burial Services. A memorial service will scheduled after the holidays.

James is survived, by his loving wife of seven years, Elizabeth and his precious 5 year old, Cody James; his sister, Samantha Cortez; a brother, Mark Dillion and his wife, Julie, all of Albuquerque. His mother and father-in-law, Dar-lene and Charlie Rice; sister-in-laws, Debbie Monahan and family, Diana Sandoval, husband Kevin and family, all from a brother-in-law, Kurt Poole and his family; and another father-in-law, Charles Stanley Poole; and an extended family that included Ivan and Boya-na Martinez; Kevin Adams and his wife, Sandy; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. James was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan and was rejoicing in their great year. He was a committed member of the Believers Center of Albuquerque.

He loved and enjoyed serving this church. He was also employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a city mail carrier. A special thank you to Pastor John Ross of Believers Center, for his wisdom and dedication. Thanks to those who came and visited James and for all the prayers and support.

SALAZAR Emilio Salazar, 77, died December 23, 2007 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Jane Salazar; children, Elizabeth Austin and husband Bob, Dr. John A. Salazar and wife, Marcia, Robert T. Salazar and wife, Shauna, Steve G.

Salazar and wife, Amy, and Richard G. Salazar and wife, Stephanie; grandchildren, John Austin and wife, Tonya, Michelle Austin, Kenneth Salazar and wife, Amy, Brian Salazar, Andrew Salazar, Kristin Salazar, Jordan Salazar, Kyla Salazar, and Zoe Salazar, and great granddaughter, Madelyn. Emilio also has three siblings surviving him, Adelina Monseur, Benito Salazar, Charles Salazar. Mr. Salazar was preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro and Juanita Salazar and his brothers Raymond and Alex Salazar.

Emilio served his country in the US Air Force and retired from the Postal Service after 30 years. He dedicated his life to his family especially his wife, children and grandchildren who he dearly loved. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, December 26, 2007, 7:00 pm at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. He was born to Pablo and Jose-fa Sena in Gordo served in the SouthPacific during WWII. He was FE County Sheriff in the 1950's and as he would say "I was the last Republican Sheriff in Retired from the US Marshall's office. He is survived by his sister, Mary Quintana; wife, Nellie and her children, Stephanie, Rick and Michelle Aragon and Nicole Jackson and husband, Neal; Gordo's children, Marquita, John and his wife, Geneva, Frank and wife, Diane and Stephanie and husband, Keith; grandchildren, Cenissa, Ursula, Melisaa, Anthony, Natalie, Abby, Jordan and Olivia; great-grandchildren, Brennan and Alyssa; and many nieces and nephews. Mass will be Saturday, December 29, 2007 in Pojoaque, NM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 10:00 a.m. STARR Adam Starr, age 21, passed away at the University of New Mexico Medical Center on Wednesday, December 26, 2007, following an unexpected and sudden illness. He was born August 4, 1986 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Boris and Heloisa Starr. He was currently a junior at UNM studying Bio-Chemistry as a pre-medical student. Adam was very active in his community and his Church.

He participated in, chaperoned, and led many of the the Queen of Heaven Parish youth group activities and trips. He loved and was loved by many, many friends and had a huge impact on their lives and of those of his family. His examples of love and courage will be remembered forever by those that knew him and whom he touched. Adam is survived by his parents, Boris and Heloisa Starr; his sister and her husband, Leila and Jon Lillywhite; his grandparents, Boris and Teresa Starr; and his aunt and uncle, Teresa and Gary Gerew. He was born on September 1, 1916, to parents, Frank Frain and Tho-ra (Hassel) Frain, in Joliet, Illinois. Warren served in the United States Air Force for 31 years, and retired from Kirtland Air Force Base in 1967, holding rank as Senior Master Sergeant.

While he was a resident of Albuquerque, NM, Warren also was a Mason of the Blue Lodge Masonic Order. Warren was preceded in death by his son, Jack L. Frain, and his last wife, Elva O. Frain. He is survived by his son, Warren "Dennis" Frain.

He was born on May 15, 1922 in Muleshoe, Texas to Alejandro and Maria Garcia. Virgil served in WWII for the United States Army.

He loved music and dancing. He was preceded in death by Joe Garcia and Pablo Garcia. He is survived by his companion, Maria F. Valdez; his three sons, Gabriel Garcia and wife, Stella, Daniel Garcia and Arturo Garcia, his sisters, Amelia Urban and husband, Marcos and Augustina Baca and husband, Joe. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great child.

Daniel has been a resident of Albuquerque for 28 years. He was co-owner of Garza and Garza Auto body with his cousin, Pete Garza, since 1985. Daniel's passions in life were his loving wife, children, and his Corvettes. Daniel was a member of the New Mexico Corvette Association. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Karen-Lynn Fiato; his mother, Tanis Garza of Albuquerque; children, Ryan Bowman and Made-lynn Garza, both of Albuquerque; grandson, Robert Bowman of Albuquerque; sisters, Christine Whittle and husband, Joe of WA, Geneva Acosta and husband, Joe of Hobbs, NM, and Lydia Moy-ers of TX; father-in-law, Vincent Fiato of Truth or Consequences; cousins, Pete and Adam Garza; and numerous other relatives and close friends.

Gerhardt, 77 of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, December 17, 2007. She was born on September 22, 1930 in Hackensack, New Jersey to the late Charles and Louise Froelick. She married Richard "Dick" C. Gerhardt and lived the life of an Air Force officer's wife following him wherever his career took him. He preceded her in death in 2005.

Also preceding Shirley in death was her oldest son, Richard J. Gerhardt. She is survived by her youngest son, Douglas Gerhardt of Albuquerque. A private funeral service was held on December 26, 2007. She was buried in Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Law, 91, resident of Albuquerque since 1988, passed away on Christmas Day 2007. J.P. served in the United States Air Force during World War II as a pilot of multi-engine aircraft. He later earned a PhD from Texas University in 1965, and pursued a career as a research scientist for the U.S.

Environmental Protection Agency at the Kerr Water Research Center in Ada, OK. During his years in Oklahoma, J.P. was an avid bird-hunter and skeet shooter. He worked in Civil Service at Cannon AFB with Ameritac Construction. He was a Nascar and Miami Dolphin Fan and an avid sports card collector. Survivors include his wife, Vanessa Lucero of the home; three sons, Albert S. (Chassity) Lucero of Ribera, NM, Zachary Genson and John David Lynch, a brother, Louis (Reyna) Lucero of Cuba, NM; four sisters, Carmel (Joe) Pino of Tucum-cari, NM; Theresa (Gilbert) Chavez of Albuquerque, NM; Patsy Wilson of Tulsa, OK; and Margaret (Johnny) Bustos of Alamosa, CO; his mother, Carolina Lucero of Albuquerque, NM; a grandson, Albert Charles Lucero of Ribera, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Santiago Lucero; a sister, Ruby Granillo; two nephews, Angelo Alires, and Richard Lucero.

(575) 762-4435 www.muffleyfuneralhome.com MARES Caroline "Carol" Mares passed peacefully from this life, surrounded by her family Sunday, December 16th, 2007, she was 91 years old. She was born in 1916 to Robert Martinez and Margarita (Baca) Martinez in Moriarty, NM and soon moved with the family to Dawson, NM where she was to meet her life companion, Santos "Jim" Mares. Carol graduated from Dawson High School in 1934 and attended Business College in Santa Fe, NM. After graduation, she worked for a few years as a secretary, where her High School sweetheart, Jim, came and asked her to be his wife.

She was married December 7, 1938 in Denver, Colorado, where they moved so Jim could continue to manage one of his brother's businesses. The family grew to four as first Robert "Bob" (1940) then Bill (1942) was born. Carol and family relocated to San Francisco, California in 1942 when Jim took a position with Pan American Airways flying on the China Clippers (flying Boats) out of Treasure Island. Carol and family relocated briefly to San Mateo, where Myra Dee was born in 1947 and that year moved to Vallejo. In 1953 the family was afforded the opportunity, by Pan Am, to live in Hong Kong for 3 years before returning to make Vallejo their home.

After returning to the states, Carol worked at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard, as a Secretary in the Design Division she retired in 1972. Carol was a tireless homemaker who loved to cook and care for her children as well as holding down a full time career, before retirement. She was quite the world traveler, and visited London England, Paris France, Rome, Italy, Barcelona Madrid, Spain, The Canary Islands and Hawaii. After retiring Carol loved to spend time chatting for hours with her sister, Isabelle, or childhood friend, Adelina Chene and was an avid biography reader. She was a member of the Presbyterian Hospital Auxiliary in Albuquerque. In Los Alamos she served on the Board and as President of the Los Alamos Medical Center Auxiliary, and on as State President of New Mexico Hospital Auxiliary Association. She was active in the White Rock Methodist Church and served as the Chairman of the Board of the Horizon's Center Day Care Program and as a member of several other committees. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was a very skilled seamstress, quilter and knitter and enjoyed fishing, camping, and travel. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mr. Gotti volunteered for World War II and served in Europe as a Combat Medic with the 11th Armored Division, he was honored with the Silver Star medal.

Mr. Gotti resided in Los Alamos for 46 years before moving to Albuquerque in 1997. He was employed by the University of California Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory. He was a group leader in the accounting department. Mr.

Gotti was active in the Los Alamos community having been involved with the founding of the Del Norte Credit Union as a charter member and serving as its first supervisory chairman. He was also involved with the establishment of the Los Alamos Elks Lodge and served as the first Exalted Ruler as well as serving as a trustee for 5 years, a chaplain one year and as ritual coach for 14 years. He served a second term as Exalted Ruler in lmAm. Mr. Gotti also served as a board member and treasurer of the Timber Ridge Home Owners Association for seven years.

While employed by the university, Mr. Gotti was a member of the International Systems and Procedures Association. Robert was preceded in death by, parents, Robbie Lee and Tressa Boatright Howard; sisters, Maxine Roper, Hilda Foehner; brother-in-law, Gordon DeVore; and sister-in-law, Polly Howard. Robert was raised on a farm in Illinois where he learned how to work.

He fired steam engines, tested nuclear devices, farmed worms, drove trucks and delivered luggage but specialized in the Masonry business estimating and contract work. He graduated from Carlisle High School in Illinois and served his country in the US Air Force. Through his life, Bob was most proud of his family, most affected by his personal relationship with Jesus Christ and he wasn't afraid to share about either. His knowledge of Scripture was impressive, especially dealing with prophecy. Bob's legacy wasn't built on riches or fame it was built on that intimacy with Jesus and his intense love for his family.

Integrity, hard work, discipline, sincerity, and a quiet strength were Robert's hallmarks. Friends may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Services will be held Friday, December 28, 2007, 10:00 a.m., French Mortuary, University Blvd.
