He attended Palm Beach High SchooTand joined the Navy in 1957. He became a hospital corpsman, serving aboard the USS Cavalla, the USS Cobbfer, the USS Sea Leopard, the USS Threadfin and the USS Salmon. Richard retired from the U.S.

Navy with 20 years of service as a Chief Petty Officer in 1976. He worked with H. Richards Oil Company Austin, TX for six years, then joined the Palm Beach County FL, Sheriff's Department as a career deputy retiring in 2000. Richard was a 32nd degree Master Mason, Blue Lodge, Harmonia 138 of West Palm Beach, FL, Lake Worth Scottish Rite in Lake Worth, FL and a member of Ben Hur Shrine in Austin, TX. Richard is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia G.

Born November 23, 1929 in Savannah, GA, Alice spent her formative years in West Palm Beach, where she attended Palm Beach High, was a cheerleader and involved in her community. Known for her beauty and savior faire, Alice was photographed and used in numerous publications encouraging tourism in the Palm Beaches. She went on to attend Florida State University and graduated with a teaching degreefrom the University of Florida in Gainesville. She taught elementary school in West Palm Beach.

Above all, Alice loved the beauty of the beach and majesty of the Atlantic Ocean. As luck would have it, she met her beloved husband of 58 years, Richard Watkins Malone on a beautiful crystal clear day on Daytona Beach. Love at first sight, they married six months later and eventually settled in Asheville, NC, where they raised their three children. A woman of great generosity and community spirit, Alice was involved in numerous philanthropic organizations and activities in Asheville. As a former teacher, she was an active participant in her children's schools and sporting activities, as well as the Boy and Girl Scouts.

But, Alice did not limit herself to the lovely Asheville she and Richard traveled the world and engaged in numerous exciting international adventures. Alice's favorite enjoyment, outside her family, were her friends. She loved spending time with her high school friends in Florida and the "Cruddettes" a group of fun loving Asheville women who were well known for their creative soirees and fun escapades. Alice's ready smile, cheerful laugh and witty repartee will be sorely missed, but she will be well remembered for her zest and love of life. She lived each and every day of her eighty years with grace, elegance and joy.

Alice leaves behind her husband, Richard Malone and two children, Patrice and Alison and five grandchildren, Paige, Laine, Tyson, Spencer and Ashley. Tito Mejia grew up in New York City, NY and Locust Valley, NY.

He was 25 years old at the time of his death. He attended and graduated from The Buckley School, Deerfield Academy and Trinity College. He worked as an Investment Associate in the Private Wealth Management Division at UBS in New York. Tito Mejia was a remarkable young man.

He will be missed greatly by his family and legions of friends. CONSTANT Esther H. Constant of Maple Plain, MN, formerly Lantana, FL, went home to be with her lord on Saturday, April 10, three weeks after celebrating her 99th birthday. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harold E. Constant. Esther was a remarkable woman who complained rarely, criticized never and was fiercely loyal to those she loved.

Her smile and graciousness captured the hearts of those who knew her. Her positive attitude and love for the simple things of life was an example for all. Esther leaves a legacy of contentment in any situation and complete trust in God. "Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised." Proverbs 31 :30. A graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Cortese served in land development as Vice President with Arvida Corporation in South Florida. He was a former President of the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, Boca Raton Airport Authority as well as Chairman of the Board for the Westminster School in Miami, FL and Ft.

Lauderdale Christian School. Ordained as an Elder with the Presbyterian Church, he served in church leadership in Boca Raton, Miami and Wellington, FL. He was a Paul Harris Fellow with the Rotary Club in Boca Raton, loved animals, woodworking and was a big sports fan, especially his Yankees. In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by his children, Laura (Gordon) Stammel, Lexington, KY, Paul (Shannon) Cortese, Lancaster, PA, Dean (Sue) Cortese, Hendersonville, NC, Raymond (Diane) Cortese, Crystal River, FL and Philip (Ellen) Cortese, Franklin Springs, GA; daughter-in-law, Deborah Cortese, Tallahassee, FL; as well as 21 grandchildren. Visitation and service Friday LOIS RITA SCHWARTZ (nee Glick) Lois Rita Schwartz, (nee Glick), 78 of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; formerly of Pittsburgh, PA passed away peacefully on April 14, 2010. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 4, 1931 and became a full time resident of Florida in 1 975.

Mrs. Schwartz Received a Bachelors degree from Penn State University and a Masters degree from the University of Pittsburgh in primary and secondary education respectively. She was very active in charitable and religious matters in Pennsylvania and Florida. Lois Schwartz is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Melvin Schwartz, children, Judy (Leon) Tenenbaum, Steven (Cathy) Schwartz and Rabbi Kathy Cohen. Grandchildren, Salomon, Brian, Caitlin, Jennifer, Brett, Sarah, Joseph and Ariel.

She was also survived by her brother, Dr. Harold (Beverly) Glick; sister, Irene Wolfson and sisters-in-law, Deloris (Morris) Naimark and Helaine Flamm. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and their children. Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Friday, April 16, 2010 at Temple Beth El, 333 SW 4th Avenue, Boca Raton.
