Chicago. attending the reunion for the first time, 40 years ago. Mrs. Bessie Galusa Seymour reported that her family, the Galushas, hold the record so far as can be determined, five generations have attended the school. Other guests were present from Lansing.

Detroit. Lake Odessa and Howell. A poll tick dinner was served at noon and at the business meeting following Hazel Alchin. president, and Mrs. Nan Bement See, secretary, were reelected.

Six permits went to Osceola county, two permits went to Allegan, and one each to Clare, Ogemaw, Ottawa, Calhoun, Lenawee, and Lake counties.

of Springport. an uncle of M. Donald Burkhead of Olivet, who died in a Jackson hospital Saturday, were held Tuesday at Springport. Mr. Burkhead was born near Potterville and for many years was engaged in teaching near Potterville and also operated a hardware store there for several years.

Surviving is a sister. Mrs Mary McCIintock Deville of Danville. 111., who is 89 years old. Mrs. Elva Johnson Mercer BELLEVUE, Sept.

2 Funeral services for Mrs. Elva Johnson Mercer. 65. wife of Frederick N. Mercer of Chicago, were held from the Johnson funeral home Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock with Rev.

Kearney Kirkby of the local Methodist church in charRe. Mrs. Mercer had been ill for several years. Her death occurred Saturday. Mrs.

Mercer was the onlv daughter of the late Norton H. and Letitia Campbell Johnson and was born in Bellevue July 6, 1877. On June 28. 1905. she was united in marriage with Mr.

Mercer at the same time her brother, Charles, now deceased, and Miss Mollie K. Kimball were married in a double ceremony which took place at the Johnson home. Following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Mercer took up their residence in Chicago, where Mr.

Mercer was employed in a bank, which position he has since maintained. Mrs. Mercer was a graduate of the Bellevue high school, class of 1895, and was later employed as a teacher here. She also taught in Harvey, 111. Besides the husband.

Fred, she leaves one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Lvtle of Kankakee. 111.: a brother. Valnev Johnson of this place: one granddaughter. Peggv Lytie and three nieces.
