MOUSER- Vestal A. Mouser August 4, 1917 October 23, 2007 Vestal Mouser was born in Stamps, AR to Arthur and Bertha Mae Mouser. Vestal graduated high school and joined the U.S. Army in 1941, where he served his country in World War II. Vestal was a Squad Leader, Message Center Chief, and Car Commander in the Rhineland Campaign GO 40 WD 45.

He was wounded in action on January 17, 1945 in France. Vestal received an EAMET Ribbon, American Defense Ribbon, Purple Heart, and a Good Conduct Ribbon. After recovering from his war injuries, he lived in Clovis, NM and married Winnie Branni-gan in 1950. They were later divorced in 1969. Vestal made Albuquerque, NM his home until 1996, when he moved to the Grand Junction, CO area with his son, daughter-in-law, grandson and his wife, and great-grandson.

In 2003, Vestal lived with and was profoundly loved and cared for by his grandson, Doug Hine and his wife, Joanne. His great-grandson, Wes Hine, also tended to Vestal and loved him deeply, as well as his great-granddaughter, Alexandria Hine and a great-great-granddaughter, Aliani. Vestal's life was also immensely fulfilled with the additional family he left behind, who he loved dearly, including his son, Ron Mouser (Mary Jane), Centennial, CO; grandchildren, Beverly Covert (Dave), Rio Rancho, NM; Vince Mouser (Debbie), Albuquerque, NM; four great-grandchildren, Ty Garner (Brittany), Orange Park, FL; Brittney Garner, Rio Rancho, NM; Ashley and Megan Mouser, Albuquerque, NM. He also had another very special great-great-granddaughter, Ka-miryn Garner, who was able to visit him and gave him a spark of life in his final days with us. Vestal passed away peacefully at home with Doug and Joanne surrounding him.

He knew he was home. We will miss him so much. Vestal was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Mouser; as well as his two sisters, Clara Teague and Willie Mae Mouser. We would like to thank all of the folks at Mesa Manor who helped us through seeing Vestal's wishes of being home carried out. Memorial Services will be Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 11:30 a.m.

at Callahan Edfast Mortuary with Graveside Services at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 2830 Road at 1:00 p.m. MYERS Joel Bruce Myers, born October 19, 1923 in French, NM, to Francis Leroy Myers and Margie Bruce, was the eldest of four children: Joel, Ruth, Wayne, and Jean. Thursday, October, 25, 2007, he passed away peacefully at the Albuquerque VA Hospital. He is survived by his sister, Ruth Farmer, five sons: W. Martin and wife, Deanna, Dan E.

and wife, Donna, W. Bruce and wife, Connie, R. Michael, and Anthony; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Joel attended Jefferson Jr. High and Albuquerque High School, served in the Army Air Corps during WWII, worked for Holloman and Kirtland Air Force bases as an airplane mechanic, and was an accomplished pilot.

Since the late '80s he has been living on the family ranch in LaJara, NM. Both Memorial Services will be held Monday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints one at the Regina Branch in Regina, NM, at 10:00 a.m., and the other at the Bernalillo Ward in Bernalillo, NM, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite cancer research group. In place of a viewing, there will be a video of Joel's life play-ing both before and following the Services. NICHOLS-Charles (Charlie) Robert Nichols 76 passed away October 18, 2007 at home in Canton, NC.

He was born in Franklin, NC on September 28, 1931. Charlie, a former resident of Albuquerque attended Albuquerque High School but graduated with the first graduating class of Highland High School in 1950. Charlie spent 3 years in the Army serving in Korea where he received a Purple Heart. He then attended UNM where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. In 1960 he obtained his law degree from George Washington University.

Charlie was employed by Honeywell as Director of Programing for 31 years until he retired in 1992. Charlie leaves behind two daughters, Nancy Alzate of Albuquerque, NM, Lisa Konietzko and husband, Mark of Big Lake, MN; and sons, Charles R. Nichols Jr. and his wife, Marcie of Tampa, FL, Robert Price Nichols of St Paul, MN; a sister, Jean Baldoni and her husband.Tom of Albuquerque, NM; and four grandchildren. Charlie was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan McKinnon; and second wife, Sue Gibbs Nichols; brother, Homer (Nick) Nichols; and parents, Homer and Myrtle Nichols.

Funeral Services were held October 22, 2007 at Beaverdam United Methodist church in North Carolina. NORRIS Walter Jean Norris, 79, a resident of Silver City, NM, entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at his residence. Walt proudly served in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific during World War II. He worked for 30 years as a field representative on overseas technical operations for Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM. After his retirement, he moved to Silver City where he was a member of the Rolling Stones Gem and Mineral Society and the Grant County Search and Rescue Volunteers.

He is survived by his daughter, Paula Jean Cooley and son, Michael Bruce Norris both of Silver City; sister-in-law, Paula Marie Madewell of Aiken, SC. Mr. Norris was preceded in death by his loving wife, Midge; his parents, Walter Benton Norris and Vassa Jean Norris; a son-in-law, Daniel William Cooley. Cremation has taken place with private family services to be held later at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with Terrazas Crematory in Santa Clara. Oswald was born in Dayton, Kentucky March 7, 1938. She passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Peggy will be remembered as a loyal, loving friend and a talented lady. She loved nature and was an avid outdoors person who loved animals. Peggy also loved to backpack, camp and study rock formations.

She graduated College from the University of Tennessee with a Masters Degree in Physical Education and Recreation. After graduation, Peggy returned to Dayton and accepted the position of Girl Scout Troop Camp Director and Leader. Eager for a change of scenery, Peggy decided to make a move to the Southwest, settling in the Albuquerque area where she worked for the Chaparral Girl Scout Council, directing the Navajo Youth Camp, where she came to know and love the Navajo People. Peggy then returned to school, received her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and began working at New Mexico Utilities. She remained there until her health conditions prevented her working and Peggy retired in October of 2006.

She is survived by her parents, Harold and Sylvia Oswald of Dayton, KY, and numerous caring and loving friends who will miss her greatly. A Memorial Gathering, celebrating Peggy's life, will be celebrated in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW. in Albuquerque, on Saturday, November 3, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary; and two sons, Mark and Paul, all of Albuquerque. Chet was preceded in death by his son, Kurt of Roswell, NM.

He was a sergeant in the US Army during WWII in Europe. Throughout his life he was active in the banking and legal fields. Chet was a member of the NM State Bar for 50 years. He was active in the Catholic Church, and was a member of the Albuquerque Host Lions Club for many years. Chet was also an avid golfer and fisherman.

Preceded in death by his of wife of 54 years, Dorothy Amelia (Graham), he is survived by his daughter, Mary Ellen Pattison, of Albuquerque; sons, Paul Pattison and wife, Maydeana of Bremerton, WA, Tom Pattison of Mesa, AZ, John Pattison and wife, Diane, and David Pattison and wife, Dianna all of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. Born Jan.

25, 1920 in Webb City, MO to Harold and Dicie (Woodard) Pattison, Pat proudly served in the Army Air Corps during WWII, piloting medium cargo and bomber planes, and as an Air Traffic Controller for 32 years. He was a member of the Promenader Square Dance Club for many years, and enjoyed PAXTON Donald Dorn Paxton passed away on his 95th birthday on October 8, 2007 at his home in Ft. Pierce, FL. Don was born in Athlone, CA. Don enjoyed a life filled with many successful adventures.

He was a graduate of U.C.L.A. where he was Captain of the Swim Team. In 1936, he married the love of his life, Pat. They had 5 children together. In 1951, he moved to Albuquerque where he was co-founder of the successful Bridgers Paxton Consulting Engineers firm with Frank Bridgers.

In 1956, he and Frank Bridgers designed and constructed the world's first commercial solar heated building. News of the building appeared in consumer and engineering magazines worldwide, including Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, and Life. The building's system served well as a prototype that was easily 15 years ahead of its time. Don built a cabin up in the Santa Fe National Forest of NM with his family, and always gave an open invitation to all to enjoy it. The cabin was used and enjoyed for many years by countless family, friends and acquaintances, thanks to Don Paxton's generosity.

Upon his retirement in 1974, Don and Pat moved to Florida and spent many cherished years together on their sailboat, September Song, sailing to Mexico and the Bahamas. Once again, Don gave an open invitation to family, friends and acquaintances to come enjoy the boat, and many people were able to enjoy the opportunity to visit the Bahamas, courtesy of Don Paxton. Don is survived by his wife of 71 years, Pat; three daughters, Ann El-Moslimany of Seattle, WA, Judy Baker of Houston, TX, and Martha Williams of Ft. Pierce, FL; two sons, John of Ft. Pierce, FL and David of Toronto, SD; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, Norman of Merritt Island, FL; and a sister, Grace Whear of Minden, NV.

Don was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Hugh, and his business partner Frank Bridgers. Don Paxton will be missed but he will always be an inspiration to his family and his many friends that he made throughout his life. He was well known by all for his integrity and generosity. A Memorial Service was held on October 16, 2007 at Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church in Ft. Pierce, FL.

He was preceded in death by his son, Peter; brother, Ray; and his parents, Joe and Esther Robbins. Donald served in the US Navy during WWII and owned his own construction company. Roth; 19 grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Arthur was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Mary Roth on December 2, 2004. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 27, 1920 to Arthur Karl and Elizabeth Roth. Arthur was a loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A 35-year resident of Rio Rancho, she passed peacefully after a long battle with cancer. She was born in New York City, NY on May 4, 1943 and attended Tuckahoe High School in New York. She moved to San Diego, CA where she started her family.

She later moved back to Tuckahoe, NY to be with her parents. She moved to Rio Rancho in the spring of 1972 with her parents where she dedicated her life to her family. Her commitment to family remained strong. After the raising of her own children, she opened her heart and home to her grandchildren and became the mother figure for them as well. She participated in many organizations to bring forth the awareness of child abuse and was passionate about the cause.

She will be remembered as a kind, compassionate woman who cherished her family and friends. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church since she moved to Rio Rancho. She is survived by her sister, Joyce and brother-in-law, Bill Bruning of Rio Rancho; her daughter, Tonna Murray; son, Thomas Schweizer; daughtergranddaughter, Carlyn Schweizer; songrandson, Ryan Schweizer; and granddaughters, Ashley Schweizer, Payton Schweizer, and Mikayla Murray. Bandy, 77, passed away Wednesday evening, October 24, 2007, after a battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Selma (Sammy) Bandy; daughter, Jeri; son, Chris; daughter, Lisa and husband, Russ; and his four precious grandchildren, Kim-berly, Jessica, Orion, and Caleb. He loved his family deeply and will be missed terribly. Cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Any one wishing to pay respects may do so at the family home.

BEEKMAN-ROBERT LEON In Memory Robert Leon Beekman December 13, 1921 October 28, 1977 Daddy-O! How could it be thirty years since you danced out of this life and forward in your journey? I do not visit your gravesite because for me you are not there. I carry you with me each day in my heart and appreciate all the traits you personified in life, especially patience and kindness. She was born December 19, 1913 in Elroy, IL to Walter and Mabel Grinyer. She is survived by her daughter, Jan Johnson and husband, Em-mett of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Jeff Johnson of Santa Monica, CA, Jill Henderson and husband, Scott and Jorie Johansen and husband, Anton of Albuquerque, NM. Also five greatgrandchildren, Charlotte Johnson, Claire Henderson, Adam Henderson, Toby Johansen, and Hayden Johansen. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Helen Grinyer of Riverside, CA and Dolores Grinyer of Brookfield, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Bertolucci; parents; two sisters; and two brothers.

She worked at Valley Gold Dairies and retired from Sandia National Labs in 1978. Her family, her home, playing bridge, traveling, being active in the Daughters of the Nile and dialysis kept her busy and alive in her retirement. She was a longtime member of St Timothy's Lutheran Church. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church with the date and time forthcoming.

Bogner was born in Provincia di Piacenza, Italy on June 27, 1930 and came to the United States shortly after WW II. Mrs. Bogner was a volunteer Grandmother at MacArthur Elementary for nearly 20 years and a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Hans Bogner, daughters, Rosanna Bogner Shannon and Angela Bogner, both of Albuquerque; sister, Bruna Poggi in Italy; and many dear friends and the children of MacArthur Elementary. A Rosary will be recited for Mrs.

Brightwell, retired C.W.0.4 of the Army. She was born in Fremont, OH on September 15, 1920. She married W.G. Brightwell in El Paso, TX on March 31, 1938. She was a housewife and an artist.

She loved doing all kinds of arts and crafts. Lindsey, 84, passed away September 13, 2007, after an extended convalescence in Long Beach, CA.

He was preceded in death by his son, Curtis. He is survived by his sons, Stuart and Jason; and his daughters, Sara and Kathleen; former wife, Catherine; as well as his eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Brinan, Jack, Sam, Demery, Eva, Ella, and Lucas. A 30-year resident of Albuquerque, he worked locally in radio (KGGM) under the name Ben Callahan and newspaper for the Albuquerque Journal (59-61). He also worked in radio and newspaper in Ft. Scott and Pittsburgh, KS.

After leaving radio and newspaper he worked in Washington, D.C. for the Department of Labor, in Albuquerque for the Council of Governments and the National Alliance of Businessmen, in Los Alamos for the Zia Company, and in Santa Fe for the Health and Human Services Department for the State of New Mexico, where he retired after 20 years. After leaving Albuquerque, he resided in Carson City and Reno, NV, before settling in Long Beach, CA, where he spent his remaining 10 years. Though he had not been of resident of Albuquerque for some time, he still considered it home and is where he wished to be interred near his son, Curtis. A Wake was held at the home of his son, Jason, on October 13, 2007 with the surviving family members.

Interment will take place at a later date at Fairview Memorial Park. LORD JOHN H. JR. As the afternoon was just beginning and prayer had just been said, a loving gentleman, WWII veteran breathed his last breath on Monday, October 15, 2007. John H.

Lord, Jr. died in peace at his home with love all around him with a single breath to say goodbye. He was our world. This proud veteran made it to his 84th birthday on October 9, 2007. John was born in Shreveport, LA to John H.

Lord, Sr. and Rubye Riddick. He attended both Louisiana State University and Miami University, where he earned a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. He proudly served his country during WWII, while assigned to the 493rd Fighter Squadron of the 48th Fighter Group. He was an aircraft mechanic.

He served overseas with his squadron in the Ninth Air Force from March 1944 until August 1945 at eight different airbases in England, France, Belgium and Germany. He attained the grade of Staff Sergeant and was awarded the American Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and European-Africa-Middle East Campaign Medal with six Battle Stars (Air Offensive Europe, Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes-Alsace, Central Europe and Rhineland), Army of Occupation Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. His squadron was awarded the Presidential Distinguished Unit Citation and the Belgian Four-ragere. During college after the war John joined the ROTC program, earned a Commission, entered active duty again, and retired in the grade of Major. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Imogene Boutwell Lord.

He is survived by the following family members, daughter, Pamela Lord-Hannah; son, Ronald Michael Lord; grandchildren, Jordan Hannah, Michael Lord, Jennifer Lord and Penny Lord; and great-grandchildren, Alicia and Isacc Pla-cencia. She was born March 3, 1919 in Rochester, NY to George Lyle and Elva (Zimmerman) Fearnley. In 1945 she married John W. Caskey and they raised six children in the Rochester, NY area. At the age of 17, Eleanor began her college studies at Wooster (Ohio) Presbyterian College and later received a scholarship to Cornell University to study aeronautical engineering. Upon completion of her studies she went to work for Curtis Wright in Buffalo, NY and later worked for Xerox Corporation in the engineering department in Webster, NY.

Eleanor was a voracious reader, loved to solve the New York Times crossword puzzles and was known for her "green thumb." Upon her husband's retirement in 1973 they moved to Smith Mountain Lake near Roanoke, VA. After John passed away in 1980 Eleanor remained in Roanoke and worked for the League of Older American's Meals on Wheels program. She retired at the age of 78 to Wausau, WI where she became a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He earned a PhD in Analysis from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champagne in 1961.

After that he went to the University of Moscow as a post-doc. Professor DeMarr first taught at University of Washington at Seattle, then joined the University of New Mexico Mathematics Department in 1968 and retired in the mid 1990s. Starting 1965, his mathematics research switched to a field called ordered structures. In this field, four PhD students, all graduated from UNM, wrote thesis under him. His contribution in mathematics was that he provided a new way to examine the field of ordered structures.

His co-workers and students all praise him as an extremely generous and kind person always willing to share ideas and help people. He was a world traveler and knew many languages, including Russian, French, and Italian. Cremation has taken place and private services will be held in accordance with his wishes. He is survived by his longtime friend and companion, Luci Torres and her family. DORAND Lloyd G. Dorand, 89, a resident of Albuquerque since 1954, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Richardson; two grandchildren, Shannon Roth-eneder and husband, Niki of Albuquerque, and Brandon Richardson and fiancee Jiaye Chen of Dublin, CA; a great grandchild, Kieran Rothene-der; two nieces, Shyrlene Oubre and husband, Mike of New Orleans, and Olive Taylor of Tijeras, NM; and other relatives and friends. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Ethel Mary Dorand, in April of 2006; and one brother and sister. He was born on September 21, 1918 in New Orleans, LA to Louis and Shirley Dorand.

Lloyd was a graduate of Delgado Technical Vocational School in New Orleans, LA. He worked for Higgins, Inc. as an electrician in the development and production of the PT boats. He entered the United States Navy in 1944 and proudly served during WWII in the South Pacific. After his honorable discharge he and Ethel moved to Artesia, NM where he worked for Burnworth Coll Heating and Air Conditioning.

They moved to Albuquerque in 1954 where he worked for several heating and air conditioning companies. He was a 45 year member of Local 412 Plumber Pipe Fitters Union. Lloyd retired from Honeywell in about 1980 and enjoyed traveling all over the world. He loved to entertain many with his stories. Lloyd had a prankster side to him which often came out in his stories.

He was a loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Mass will be celebrated Monday, October 29, 2007, 11:00 a.m., at St Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Archuleta, Curtis Garcia, Michael P. Denison, Isaac Padilla, Bruce Jaramillo, and Phillip Jaramillo.
