Trade continues active for so late a period in the Fall aeaaon. Both the Import and Export movement is large. The latter embrace a a considerable amount of Cotton for Liverpool and the Continent. Since the yielding in price 8 at Liverpool, there to a free disposition on the part of holders here to meet the market. The stocks In New-York and New-Orleans continue, however, to gain on the demand for export and from our domestic mills.

The amount on hand In this port, including Cotton on shipboard not cleared, to reckoned at bales, and at New-Orleans 125,000 bales. The Customs Duties continue large, though the amount of the fresh entries of Foreign Goods going into Bond ia rather ahead of the withdrawals from Bond. The rates of Exchange on London hare fallen to 1084108i cent, and there is no prospect of the resumption of specie exports, except in the way of Gold bars delivered from California. Of these there is about $1,000,000 to go forward the present week. Money keep active at 7 cent on call, and 79 f) oent.

on prime paper. Borne of the New-England and 'Western Country Banks are short of Money, and continue to send in their 7-30 cent. United States Treasury paper for resale, which has farther depressed Government securities llg cent. The Railway Stocks were feverish throughout tha week, and left off generally lower than on Saturday week. A very large business is doing, however, on speculation, the short sellers being, for the time, in the majority.

The Import Entries for the past week, including the Dry Goods return in our last paper, amount to 18.174, 655, as against the total entries of 13227,671 same week last year. The Export Clearances of Domestic Produce amount to $6,127,156, against 11,87 4,605 same week last year. The export of Specie amounts to $136,400 against same week last year. The Customs for tha week are $2,463,112. The receipts of Cotton, coastwise and by railroad, are 23,016 bales.

The of emigrant passengers arrived during the week is 5,479. After the sailing of the steamers Exchange was offered on London at 108108) cent standard names, and 106 J108f for Southern Bank bills with New-York indorsement. The export of Gold by the day's steamers, $130,000, making for the whole (week $106,400. The Customs receipts of the week into the Treasury Office are $2,163,112, and the Gold Interest payments out of the Office $1,000,300.

The receipts of Cotton 23,016 bales. The market for Money was easier than on Friday to borrowers on demand, the lenders being quite ready, as usual on Saturday, to make two days' interest eron if they should have occasion to recall their balances on Monday. The rata ia full 7 cent, at which the leading Stock firms in the street are readily supplied, and some few of them were lenders themselves Saturday. Various rumors, for effect, on the Stock Exchange, were indulged as to what the Treasury would do or be compelled to do with the 5 f) cent, legal Tenders falling due, in course, on the 1st December, and a peremptory Loan in an open market spoken of as likely to make a pressure for Money. The facts are directly the contrary.

1. There is only a remnant of about $18,000,000 of the $150,000,000 coupon 5 cent, legal Tenders of 1863, now outstanding. 2. The accumulated interest on the Notes Bince the 1st June coupon was paid is 2 cent. This interest can, and probably wffl, be paid and payment stamped on the face of the Notes, on the 1st December, and the same rate of interest be allowed to run while the Notes are withheld from presentation for payment.

3. Or, if the holders prefer, they can send the Notes into the Government at Washington for payment of principal and the 2g cent, interest, and receive their money by draft on the New-York Treasury Office. 4. Or the Govemment.c&n substitute for the 8 cent. Notes, the Compound Interest Notes, as provided for such' cases in the Loan Act of June, 1864.

5. Or the holders of these Notes can receive the interest and deposit the principal in the New-York Office and receive therefor 6 cent. Certificates, redeemable after 80 days on 10 days' notice. 6. And finally, in no contingency, is a new Loan, in the sense rumored on the street, contemplated, much less necessary to meet these Notes.

We deem it more than probable that as a matter of choice the large holders (chiefly the Banks, which treat them as part of their Legal Tender reserve of 25 cent.) will take the 2 cent, interest, hare the payment stamped, and circulate, or hold, at their convenience, the Notes in their present form. There ia another 5 per cent Legal-Tender issue of 1864, outstanding for about $12,000,000 or $13,000,000, not due until March and April, 1806, which added to the above, accounts for the whole rumor of a new thirty million Loan I At the Stock Exchange the Government list continued weak, while the Railways were in partially better demand. The contests between Bull Pittsburgh, Michigan Southern and Erie are the chief points of the Street, and occasion much discussion on both sides. The short sellers of Michigan Southern are most industrious in circulating their version of the condition amount of available Stock, and remote prospects for the next dividend of the Road. The Open Board of Brokers have resolved to renew Saturday afternoon sessions.
