Man Panel proves elusive prey to bounty hunter Courtesy of The CW West Palm News Fields Moseley anchors The CW West Palm News at 10 p.m. from Salt Lake City, the hub of station owner Four Points Media Group. IT'S THE What they tested: Dog the Bounty Hunter: Best of Seasons 1, 2 and 3' DVDs Cost: $21.99 Where: www.amazon.com Product Claims: Dog the Bounty Hunter: Best of Seasons 1, 2 and 3 follows America's most brawny bounty hunter through 22 episodes, hand-picked by Dog himself, from his first three top-rated seasons on From dangerous ambushes to high-stakes games of cat-and-mouse with miscreants, Dog and his crew always stay on the trail until they get their man or woman.

Dog's fierce fugitive-seeking posse stops at nothing to sniff out vice and corruption, even on the sacred day of Dog's Hawaii nuptials to his longtime love, Beth, when things quickly evolve into a fast-paced manhunt. Welcome to the new world of synergy: The CWs 10 p.m. local newscast is broadcast from more than 2,000 miles away. The Let's-Talk-About-Sexual Who: Mo Foster Occupation: Co-host of the Mo Sally morning show on K00L 105.5 staffers stationed locally, including news reporter Lane Wright and dishy entertainment correspondent Michelle Visage, also co-host of Sunny 104. 3's morning show.

But the studio broadcast originates from a place where it snows. The show is produced by the station's owner, Four Points Media Group, in collaboration with the corporate sister station KUTV-TV in Salt Lake City. The newscast, which airs seven nights a week, offers a mix of local news from West Palm to the Treasure Coast, along with the usual lineup of weather, sports, national and international news. About 30 employees are based in West Palm. There are close to 20 working in Salt Lake City.

If you think The CWis alone in its rather non-traditional newscast, think again. Looking to trim unnecessary corporate fat in a depressed economy, other media companies also have outsourced their local news shows, including one affiliate in Macon, and another in Columbus, Ohio. And industry insiders believe more are on the way. "This is where the industry is going," says Michael Burrell, The CWs news show's vice president and general manager. "Broadcasters are looking at leveraging resources at their sister stations and if you could hub it out and get content on the air that is relevant to a specific market, that's a recipe for success." Although Burrell won't divulge how much it costs to produce the show, he points out that the savings are significant.

"I don't have all the additional overhead that I would have if I had a full-blown newscast," he says. The show is anchored by Fields See NEWSCAST, 4D By KEVIN D.THOMPSON Palm Beach Post Staff Writer When you watch The CW West Palm News at 10 p.m., it looks like most local newscasts. There's a handsome, authoritative-sounding news anchor sitting behind a desk, a jolly meteorologist telling viewers whether it's going to rain and a resident sports guy. But there's something not quite so local about The CWs news program. And it's this: The newscast is produced in Salt Lake City, more than 2,000 miles from West Palm Beach.

Sure, the 35-minute program has Age: 43 City: Palm Beach Gardens He says: I love dogs. I love hot dogs. I even have some Snoop Doggy Dogg on my iPod. But I'm not a fan of Dog the Bounty Hunter. Nope, I just couldn't get into watching Duane "Dog" Chapman and his cast of misfits busting bad guys.

I'm sure this four-DVD collection with extras like Cast Biographies, Dog's Bounty Hunting Pop Quiz, and The Bow Wow Vow would be a great gift for anyone who's crazy about the show, but it's just not my cup o' fleas, uh tea. I will say this. Watching what little I did of Dog, I realized something. If this longhaired, tattooed ex-con can get his own show on then surely the guys on this here Man Panel are worthy of some TV time. I envision our show to be like The View for men.

We could talk about everything from tools to trucks and the perfect Styrofoam cooler. We could have guests on the show to chat about sports and rate different kinds of beers and have belching contests. OK, I may be pushing it a little. Anyway, I think it would work. Come on, Channel 5.

What do you say, WPEC? Don't you think we could spice up the afternoon programming over at WPBF? You can thank me when we're picking up our first Emmy. Call me and we'll do lunch DAWG! What do the other guys think? Page 3D It looks pretty slick on the air. Well, maybe I shouldn't say "slick" because that sounds kind of smarmy. But it's clean. team. Whip up organic baby food with handy gizmo I'm always skeptical when people say something is easy. You know those Martha types who toss out imperatives Grow your own herbs! Make your own curtains! Give vni 1 rse! i txh1 i txhts! puree it in a food processor, but that would add up to a pile of big dirty dishes for a little bit of food. The beauty of the Beaba is that it all happens in one small cup, from which I pour the finished product into single-serving-size freezer containers. Plus, it heats and defrosts.

One bunch of broccoli makes a couple of weeks' worth of food. Think of all the money I'll save (after I make enough to account for the cost of my beloved Beaba) Besides the health benefits and cost savings, I am pleased to have finally found a DIY project without an obvious downside. will also need to sew to block the light, or the method of reversing bleached patches of hair when you wind up looking like a Calico cat. Certainly "Make your own baby food!" qualifies as an endeavor worth questioning. But at the risk of sounding Martha-like making your own baby food is easy.

Since Christmas, I have supplemented my child's milk diet with a couple of daily servings of purees of sweet potato, carrots, broccoli, pear and apricot. I have not spent more than two hours total time on this project. My fancy Beaba Babycook con- Amy Royster Beaba Babycook, $150 at Williams-Sonoma traption ($150 at Williams-Sonoma) lets me steam and puree organic fruits and vegetables in minutes. Of course I could steam food in a pot with a steamer basket and as though their impassioned commands alone are enough to get the job done? What they so often fail to mention is the raised bed you will need to build before you can start your herb garden, the curtain liner you.
